Superstar Rajinikanth&rsquo;s upcoming film has now been titled 'Vettaiyan'. It will be directed by 'Jai Bhim' fame director TJ Gnanavel. The video begins with a shot of the star reading a book on freedom fighter Subash Chandra Bose. To much surprise, music composer Anirudh Ravichander takes us into the teaser with an all-new intro soundtrack that plays over the iconic &lsquo;Super Star Rajini&rsquo; introduction card. We then see thalaivar, sporting a magnetic clip-on sunglass and wielding a gun, say &ldquo;When the hunt is on, the prey must fall.&rdquo; Vettaiyan, which was previously called Thalaivar 170, boasts of an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan. The filming of Rajinikanth&rsquo;s next film with director TJ Gnanavel has commenced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Rajinikanth was recently spotted arriving at the Thiruvananthapuram airport.
It is expected that the shoot of the film will take place near Shangmugham. The shoot in Thiruvananthapuram is likely to go for 10 days.
As part of his interaction with media representatives at Chennai airport, the superstar said, &lsquo;I'm doing my 170th film with director Gnanavel and Lyca which will be a huge entertainer at the same time with a social message.&rsquo;
Amitabh Bachchan joins the cast&nbsp;
Amitabh Bachchan has also joined the cast of &lsquo;Thalaivar 170&rsquo;. He will reunite with Rajinikanth after three decades. The duo last shared the screen in 1991 film &lsquo;Hum&rsquo;.
Many other notable names are part of the forthcoming film like Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Rithika Singh and Dussara Vijayan.
The film&rsquo;s music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander who is already booked with major lineups like Thalapathy Vijay&rsquo;s &lsquo;Leo&rsquo;, Kamal Haasan&rsquo;s &lsquo;Indian 2&rsquo;, Jr NTR&rsquo;s &lsquo;Devara&rsquo; and Ajith Kumar&rsquo;s &lsquo;Vidaa Muyarchi&rsquo;. It has also been announced that Anirudh will again compose for superstar Rajinikanth after the TJ Gnanavel movie, for the Lokesh Kanagaraj-Rajinikanth film, &lsquo;Thalaivar 171&rsquo;.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is the latest star to join the cast of Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Thalaivar 170'. Lyca Productions took to social media on October 3 to welcome Shahenshah of Indian cinema on board. Rajinikanth and Big B will share the screen space after 32 years. They worked together last in the 1991 film 'Hum'. According to reports, the film's shooting is all set to commence in Thiruvananthapuram. TJ Gnanavel of 'Jai Bhim' fame will be directing the film. Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan will be seen in supporting roles. 'Thalaivar 170' will also star Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose music for the film. Superstar Rajinikanth was last seen in director Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Jailer'. The film grossed Rs 650 crore worldwide and became a blockbuster. Thalaivar is currently on a break and will start shooting for 'Thalaivar 170' sometime in October. Announcing the news on social media, they also shared a special note. A part of the note read, &lsquo;Lyca Productions is feeling acclaimed &amp; honoured in announcing "Superstar" Rajinikanth's "#Thalaivar 170" film under our banner. This film will be directed by TJ Gnanavel, will have music by "Rockstar" Anirudh and produced by Subaskaran. We are further happy to inform that the sholar of the film will commence soon under the leadership of GKM Tamil Kumaran and will be ready for release in 2024.&rsquo;
They also wrote in the caption, &lsquo;We are feeling honoured to announce our next association with Superstar @rajinikanth for#Thalaivar170. Directed by critically acclaimed @tjgnan. Music by the sensational &ldquo;Rockstar&rdquo;@anirudhofficial (sic).&rsquo;
