Senior BJP leaders have condemned Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's alleged "anti-Hindu" comments, issuing a call for Hindu unity across the state.&nbsp;
State BJP president N Ramchander Rao called for protests across Telangana on December 3 against Revanth Reddy's comments, including burning his effigies.
In a statement on Tuesday, Union Minister Kishan Reddy said the chief minister, during the recent Jubilee Hills bypoll campaign, had stated that "Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress".&nbsp;
The CM appears to be making arrogant comments against Hindus and Hindu gods and goddesses because of his friendship with the AIMIM, he said.
"The time has come for Hindus to unite in Telangana also. The time has come to show the power of Hindus to Revanth Reddy and Congress party," said Kishan Reddy, the Union Coal Minister. The arrogance of Congress and Revanth Reddy should be removed using the power of vote, which helped them to come to power, he said.
Sanjay Kumar, Union MoS (Home), said the BJP had cautioned during the Jubilee Hills bypoll that Hindus would lose their self-respect if either Congress or BRS won the election. The BJP's caution turned out to be true following Revanth Reddy's remarks, he said.
"Hindu society should think now whether they want to face insults by remaining divided or show their power by ensuring unity. BJP never insults other religions. BJP respects all religions," he said. The Central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi works with the philosophy of 'sab ka saath, sab ka vikas, sab ka vishwas' (Together, for everyone&rsquo;s growth, with everyone&rsquo;s trust), Sanjay Kumar added.
Addressing the executive meeting of ruling Congress here on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said the grand old party takes everyone along and it is home to people with different mindsets.
Drawing an analogy with the Hindu religion, the CM said there are many gods worshipped by the devotees. "How many gods are there for Hindus? Three crores? There is Hanuman for those who are not married. There is another god for those who marry twice," he said.
There are local deities where toddy and non-vegetarian food are served during certain events and there are gods worshipped by those who eat 'dal rice' (vegetarians), he said. "The Congress takes along all types of individuals. One says he will worship Lord Venkateswara, another says he will worship Hanuman. When we could not bring consensus on gods, I don't think we can have consensus on political leaders and DCC presidents," he said.
The comments apparently came in response to reports of unease within Congress over the appointment of new District Congress Committee (DCC) chiefs.

The tipper collided with the Telangana Road Transport Corporation (RTC) vehicle near Chevella on Monday morning, resulting in the gravel falling on the bus.
The 19 deceased, included 10 women, a police official told PTI. The driver of the bus, travelling to Hyderabad from Tandur, was among the dead.
The total of passengers travelling in the bus could not be ascertained immediately, he said. The injured persons were in trauma and they could not provide information on the number of passengers in the bus.
With the gravel falling on the bus, several passengers got stuck inside the vehicle and officials carried out relief measures using earthmovers. The passengers of the bus were brought out of it, the police official added.
Expressing anguish over the accident, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Shivadhar Reddy to carry out relief measures on a war footing, an official release said.
The CM also asked some ministers to rush to the accident site, it said. He told the officials to rush the injured passengers to Hyderabad to provide advanced treatment.

A 30-year-old man from Mahabubnagar district of Telangana died in the United States after allegedly being shot by the police there following a "scuffle" with his roommate, his family members said on Thursday.
Mohammed Nizamuddin's father Mohammed Hasnuddin, citing information received from a friend of his son, told PTI that the incident happened on September 3, though it is unclear what exactly happened.
According to information received by him, the scuffle took place over a petty matter. However, the details of the incident are unclear, he said.
He said they got the information about the incident on Thursday morning. He has requested External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to help in bringing his son's mortal remains back to Mahabubnagar.
"Today morning I came to know he (Nizamuddin) was shot dead by Santa Clara Police and his mortal remains are in some hospital in Santa Clara, California. I do not know the actual reasons why police shot him dead," Hasnuddin, said in the letter addressed to Jaishankar.
He requested the minister to ask the Embassy of India in Washington DC and Consulate General of India in San Francisco to help him in bringing his son's mortal remains to Mahabubnagar.
Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan, who shared the letter with the media, urged the External Affairs Minister to help the family in the matter.

BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to suspend Kavitha with immediate effect, party General Secretaries T Ravinder Rao and Soma Bharat Kumar said in a communication to the media.
Kavitha's behaviour in recent times and her anti-party activities are hurting the BRS. The leadership has taken serious note of it, it said.
Reacting to the Congress government announcing a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project built during the previous BRS regime, Kavitha on September 1 said some who are close to KCR have benefited in many ways by making use of his name and he was getting defamed because of their "misdeeds".
She had alleged that Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar were responsible for KCR getting the taint of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project issue.
While KCR focused on helping people, they sought to increase their wealth through clandestine dealings with contractors, she had alleged.
She claimed that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was behind Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar. Kavitha has been making critical remarks against some party leaders for several months now without naming them.
She has been organising political activities under the banner of 'Telangana Jagruti', a cultural organisation headed by her.
The internal differences in BRS first came to the fore in May this year, with Kavitha taking exception to the letter she wrote to KCR about party affairs getting leaked.
She had then said some conspiracies were taking place in the party. KCR is like a God who is surrounded by some devils, she said.
Responding to her comments then, Kavitha's brother and BRS Working President K T Rama Rao had asserted that internal party matters should be discussed within the party fora instead of speaking out in public.
In August, Kavitha was removed as the honorary president of the BRS-affiliated trade union in the state-run coal mining company Singareni Collieries.

Eight people who were injured in the deadly accident are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, and eight others are still missing, he said.
The district administration has already sent a report to the state government for further action on the missing persons.

It was established that the toddy shop owners allegedly sold toddy laced with Alprazolam, a psychotropic substance, the official has said, adding the licenses of these toddy shops were suspended.
The affected people consumed toddy in different toddy shops on July 6 and July 7 in Kukatpally, Balanagar, and other areas of the city, officials said.&nbsp;

Sigachi Industries Ltd on Wednesday said it lost 40 of its team members in the recent explosion and fire at its Pashamylaram plant. The company also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore each to the kin of the deceased in the deadly incident.
According to the government figures, the toll remained at 36 as of Wednesday morning.
"It is with anguish that we share details of the accident that occurred at the Sigachi Industries facility in Pashamylaram, Telangana, resulting in the loss of 40 valued team members and one that left over 33 injured," the company said in a statement.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said the state government will engage with the management of the firm to ensure that a compensation of Rs 1 crore is paid to each kin of those who died in the horrific accident.
The CM also said those who are seriously injured will receive Rs 10 lakh, while those who are injured but can resume work after some recovery will be provided Rs 5 lakh.
The company further said since the time of the accident, the firm have been coordinating the emergency response, family support, and extending cooperation with the investigation and compliance efforts.
"Sigachi Industries Ltd has committed to an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 1 crore (each) to the families of the deceased, while those injured will receive full medical and rehabilitation support," it said.
Sigahci also clarified that the accident was not caused by a reactor explosion at the plant as mentioned in sections of the media.
The company said it will continue to send updates as it receives information from the investigations while the plant operations will remain temporarily suspended for approximately 90 days.
The Sangareddy police, based on a complaint by a family member of one of the victims, on Monday registered an FIR against the factory management in connection with the explosion under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 110 (attempting to commit culpable homicide), and 117 (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of BNS.

Sigachi Industries Ltd had been using outdated machinery and workers were compelled to operate it, the FIR registered against the management stated.
The explosion at the firm's Pashamylaram unit two days ago left 36 dead and a nearly equal number injured.
The Sangareddy police, based on a complaint by a family member of one of the victims, on Monday registered an FIR against the factory management in connection with the explosion under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 110 (attempting to commit culpable homicide), and 117 (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of BNS.
"The complainant&rsquo;s father and other employees of the Sigachi company already informed the Sigachi Company management several times regarding change of machinery as they are too old and every possibility of danger may occur and cause heavy loss to the property and men," the FIR said.
But those fell on the deaf ears of the company management, and they continued using the old machinery, as a result of which an explosion occurred in the unit, the FIR further said citing the complainant.
The complaint was lodged by Yashwanth Rajanala, whose father Rajanala Venkat Jagan Mohanwas an employee of Sigachi for the past 20 years.
Yashwanth further said his father had told the same to his family members several times. But no action from the company&rsquo;s side, he alleged.
On the fateful day at 11 am, Yashwanth&rsquo;s uncle (his father&rsquo;s younger brother, Ram Mohan Rao) called him and informed him that around 9.30 am, a fire accident had occurred at the Sigachi company. As a result, some workers died on the spot while others sustained severe burns.
He immediately rushed to the Government Area Hospital in Patancheru and identified his father&rsquo;s body lying there.
A senior official of the Telangana Fire Department earlier said the company has no NoC from the department. There were no adequate safety measures, including fire alarms and heat sensors in the plant.
"There is a process for obtaining a No Objection Certificate. It is an online process. Once any firm applies online, a committee will decide on it. This unit has not applied for any NOC and hence we have not issued," the official said.&nbsp;

Reddy, who visited the blast site, said the toll from the explosion rose to 36.
The CM also said those who are seriously injured will receive Rs 10 lakh, while those who are injured but can resume work after some recovery will be provided Rs 5 lakh.
&ldquo;The state government will talk to the company management that Rs 1 crore each compensation will be paid to the deceased families. I have issued orders that from both the government side and company side Rs 1 Crore compensation will be paid,&rdquo; the CM said.
Also, the state government will pay Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured to meet any immediate and emergency expenses.
According to information provided by the officials, most of the deceased were from Odisha, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.
There were 143 people at the time of the blast out of which 56 are in touch with the officials. Search is on the rest of the people.
&ldquo;Thirty six people have lost their lives. Some are still missing. Officials are in the process of collecting information,&rdquo; he said.
Reddy further said the medical expenses for the injured will be borne by the state government and Sigachi.
He asserted that action will be taken against those responsible for the unfortunate incident.
Later, the CM visited the injured at the hospital.

District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj told PTI that the toll rose to 35. He, however, did not provide further details.
"Several bodies have been found under the debris while removing it. As many as 31 bodies have been extricated from the debris while three died in hospital while undergoing treatment. The last leg of the rescue operation is still going on," he said in the morning.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accompanied by some of his cabinet colleagues, visited the accident site.
When contacted, a senior official of Pranaam Hospitals in Miyapur said they received 21 patients on Monday with burns and head injuries. However, two were declared brought dead and one succumbed this morning.
A senior official of Dhruva Hospitals in Patancheru told PTI that they received 11 patients on Monday out of which two were referred to superspeciality hospitals.
&ldquo;Out of the Nine patients, five are on ventilators. We have seven patients with burns ranging from 40-80 per cent burns and two are with 10 per cent burns,&rdquo; the official said.
According to a revenue department official, the identity of nine bodies has only been established so far while the remaining need to undergo DNA profiling. Most of the deceased belonged to other states such Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.
The fatal accident on Monday is suspected to have been caused by a chemical reaction.

The toll from the pharma plant explosion in this district on Monday rose to 12 , Telangana Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha said.
At least 34 persons were injured in the explosion, triggered by a suspected chemical reaction, the health minister said.
"As many as 12 people died and 34 people are under treatment. We are hopeful that there would be no more (deaths)," the minister told reporters.
Labour Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy said: "Eight people died in the morning. Now, four bodies were found." Both the ministers visited the site.
The explosion took place at a reactor in the plant of Sigachi pharma company in the Pashamylaram industrial estate due to the suspected chemical reaction where fire also broke out.
Earlier, Inspector General of Police (Multizone) V Satyanarayana, quoting factory sources, said there were 150 people in the factory at the time of the blast. Ninety persons were in the same area where the explosion occurred.
He said the explosion occurred between 9.28 am and 9.35 am. The management immediately reached out to the local police who in turn alerted the fire department.
About ten fire fighting engines were pressed into service, he further said, adding the personnel of NDRF and SDRF were also engaged in the rescue operation.
The fire was brought under control, he added.
Asked how many workers were working at the time of the tragedy, he said effort was on to ascertain the exact figure as the person who maintains record of the workers' details is believed to have died.
PM Modi expressed grief over the fire tragedy and conveyed condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the incident. He wished an early recovery to the injured.
In a post on 'X', he announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed anguish over the incident and directed officials to take all steps to save the trapped workers and provide them advanced medical care, an official release said.

As of now, there are no reports of anyone from Telangana being injured, missing, or killed in the incident. However, the government has set up the helpline as a precautionary measure to provide immediate assistance and keep the public informed, an official release said.
The Telangana Bhavan officials in New Delhi are in constant touch with the Jammu and Kashmir state administration as well as central government authorities and monitoring the situation closely, it said.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday sought about Rs 11,700 crore loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for Hyderabad Metro Rail phase-2 project, the government said.
According to an official release, the "TelanganaRising" delegation led by Revanth Reddy held positive discussions with the top management of JICA in Tokyo to explore the possibilities for financial support for several flagship projects, including the Metro Rail Phase-2, River Musi rejuvenation and others.
"The Telangana government is keen on JICA support for the 48 per cent loan component of the project, which is about Rs 11,693 crore. He (the CM) also explained that the Indian government's foreign debt funding norms were being followed strictly by the state government," it said.
The chief minister informed the JICA team that the Metro Rail phase-2 project proposal with an investment of Rs 24,269 crore as a joint venture project of the Central and state governments was already under active consideration.
Accompanied by senior officers of the Telangana government, Reddy met Senior Vice President of JICA Shohei Hara and other senior managers.
The CM gave a detailed overview of the investor-friendly policies of the Telangana government, the attractiveness of Hyderabad as a global investments destination and large-scale infrastructure projects being taken up in the city and its surroundings.

'Young India' brand is being created in Telangana today with Mahatma Gandhi's inspiration, he said.
After inaugurating the Young India Police School here, he said the title 'Young India' was not created by him but by Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhiji ran a journal named 'Young India' during the freedom movement, Reddy recalled, adding that it reflected "the voice of India." The first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, is hailed for his stellar contributions to the country's progress after Independence, while former PM Indira Gandhi is known for her pro-poor welfare measures with the slogan 'roti, kapda aur makaan' (food, clothing, and shelter), he said.
Reddy said he is often asked by political analysts and journalists why he has not been able to "create a brand of his own" despite being in power for the last 16 months.
He said former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and TDP founder N T Rama Rao is known for his iconic Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme, while incumbent Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu is credited with the growth of the IT sector in Hyderabad.
He also recalled the contributions of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, a son of the soil, in introducing economic reforms in the country.
Another former CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, is applauded for initiating irrigation projects, the CM said.
Taking a veiled dig at BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said some claim the recognition of having fought for Telangana statehood and its formation.
"Analysts and well-wishers ask me whether I would go unnoticed as a chief minister without any brand. I would like to tell analysts, critics, and the people of the state&mdash;Young India is my brand," Reddy said.
He said all the students of the Young India Skills University, set up in the state with Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra Group as its head, are assured of employment.
Big corporates are showing interest in the proposed Young India Sports University, he said.
Observing that the social welfare residential schools set up in the state earlier lacked even basic facilities, he said his government is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every Assembly constituency, with Rs 200 crore allocated for each school.
Talking about the reforms being initiated in school education, Reddy said the government is considering introducing preschool classes for poor children to provide quality education and ensure their continued primary education in government schools.
The government is also considering providing breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks to children attending such preschool classes, he added.

Seven persons were held for allegedly raping a woman in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, police said on Tuesday.
The incident allegedly happened in Urkondapeta village on Saturday when the woman along with her husband went there for a temple darshan and stayed on the premises, they said.
When the woman went to attend nature's call, the accused forcibly took her to an isolated place near the temple and allegedly raped her in the bushes on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, even as they tied her husband to a tree when he went to her rescue, police had said.
After initiating an investigation into the case, police took seven persons into custody. The accused including an electrician, an auto-driver and two cooks are involved in extortion cases booked earlier, a police official said.
Taking a serious note of the incidents of sexual assault in Nagarkurnool district and also Hyderabad, state Women and Child Welfare Minister D Anasuya Seethakka spoke to senior police officials and women welfare department officials. She also enquired about the progress of investigation and the health conditon of the survivors.
She directed them to take measures to help the survivors and to ensure tough punishment to the culprits, a release from her office said.
She said the government has acted swiftly after the incidents came to light and arrested the accused and is also helping the survivors.

In a significant development, a team of experts engaged in rescuing the eight persons who have remained trapped for the past five days in the partially collapsed SLBC tunnel were able to reach the end of the tunnel and return, a senior police official said on Wednesday.
The teams so far were able to reach up to 50 meters before the end of the tunnel only due to muck and debris.
&ldquo;A 20 member team comprising NDRF, SDRF and Rat Miners were able to reach the last points of the (tunnel). But there was a lot of debris. They are working out how to go about,&rdquo; Nagarkurnool Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad told PTI.
&ldquo;One day before they were able to reach up to 40 meters (before the end of the tunnel). Yesterday they reached (crossed) that 40 meters also,&rdquo; the official further said.
Gaikwad further said the team searched at the location but could not find anything last night.
Replying to a query, he said the Geological Survey of India team which has collected samples is yet to submit its reports on soil strength and others.

Addressing media persons, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday cited experts, who described this as the most complex and difficult tunnel rescue operation in the world or at least in India as there is only one entry or exit to the SLBC tunnel.
There was no contact with the trapped persons though oxygen is being pumped into the tunnel continuously, the minister had said.
Eight personnel working on the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel project were trapped after a portion of the tunnel collapsed on February 22.
