<p>In the video Desai has explained that naturally sleeping late and waking up late is caused due to a person&rsquo;s circadian rhythm, which shifts forward during puberty and adolescence. He further explained that this rhythm is inherited from our ancestors when youngsters used to protect people at night while adults slept early. According to the expert, melatonin, the sleep signal, peaks later for teens, making late-night hours optimal for their productivity and learning. So, he advises parents to let teens sleep till late if they need to. &nbsp;</p>

<p>In Pune, a 17-year-old boy, who was behind the wheels of a Porsche, ended up hitting a bike on May 18. The accident claimed the lives of a man and a woman. Within 15 hours of the accident, the teenager was granted bail. Police officials say the court found the crime not 'serious' enough to deny bail.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The two who were killed in the accident were twenty-four-year-olds Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both engineers from Madhya Pradesh working in Pune, who were returning on a bike after attending a get-together with friends. &nbsp;A video also went viral in which the teenager was being thrashed by a crowd at the accident scene.&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to the court's order, several conditions were imposed on the teenager's release, which included working with traffic police for 15 days, writing a 300-word essay on the "effect of road accidents and their solution", undergoing psychiatric evaluation and treatment, seeking rehabilitation at a de-addiction centre, and assisting accident victims in the future, if he witnesses one.&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to reports, the teenager is the son of a prominent Pune realtor. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said police had urged the court to treat the accused as an adult because this is a heinous crime and sought his custody.&nbsp;</p>

Dalit teen killed amid clash over installation of Ambedkar statue in UP's Rampur

<p>Dalit minor killed over police firing in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur. The clashes occured over BR Ambedkar statue installation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A 17-year-old Dalit boy was killed and two others were injured in a clash over the installation of a board with BR Ambedkar's photo on a disputed land here, police said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>The clash occurred between two groups in Silai Baragaon village in Milak area on Tuesday, police said.</p>
<p>Divisional Commissioner, Moradabad, Aujaneya Kumar Singh said one faction was trying to install a board with the picture of Ambedkar and wanted to install his statue on the land.</p>
<p>They also demanded the land to be turned into a park in his name, he said.</p>
<p>However, the other faction opposed the same and claimed the land belonged to gram samaj, leading to a clash, Singh said.</p>
<p>Sumesh Kumar, who was returning home after giving his Class 10 examination, was killed during the clash and the two injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition is stable, police said.</p>
<p>"The matter will be probed. As family members of victims have registered a complaint that the firing took place and one has died, action will be taken accordingly after probe. Whoever is guilty will be punished," the official said.</p>
<p>The boy&rsquo;s family have alleged that he was killed in police firing. Brijkihore, the victim's brother, said he was at work when he got the news of his brother's death.</p>
<p>"People told me that he died in police firing," he said.</p>
<p>Following the incident, villagers kept the teen&rsquo;s body on a road and staged a protest, but senior police officials pacified them, police said.</p>
<p>"We have assured all help to the family. This is a family of labourers. The situation of the village is under control," the official said.</p>
<p>A video of the incident surfaced on social media showing police engaging in stone pelting and lathicharge.</p>
<p>Divisional Commissioner Singh said the matter is under probe and the victim&rsquo;s family has many demands but police's priority is to conduct the post-mortem and to ascertain how the incident happened.</p>
<p>Action will be taken against those found guilty, he added. &ldquo;A probe committee will be constituted and a magisterial inquiry will also be done in which all the aspects will be taken care of.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

The 14-year-old's mother's birthday was on June 11, and he requested the hostel warden for a mobile phone to speak to her. However, the warden did not provide the student with a phone, as per police.
Subsequently, the boy's family members tried to call him, but were not allowed to talk to him, police said. Distressed by this, the teenager reportedly hanged himself the same night and left behind a suicide note.
The body was found by other students on June 12 morning, and the deceased's family reached the hostel a few hours later. The incident occurred in Mangaluru, and the boy was a resident of Hosakote, Bengaluru.
Police are conducting further investigation.
