First observed in 1962, Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th September in India. The day marks the birth anniversary of the second President of India, Dr.&nbsp;Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Born in 1888, he is a renowned Academic and a Bharat Ratna&nbsp;recipient.&nbsp;
Teachers' Day has a special meaning this year, given the difficulties teachers and students have endured during the&nbsp;COVID-19 situation, over the last year and a half. With schools being shut and classroom&nbsp;teaching becoming a thing of the past, teaching had to be undertaken remotely and virtually&nbsp;through digital platforms.
