The Mumbai Police registered a case against the captain of the barge which sank in the Arabian sea during Cyclone Tauktae.&nbsp;As many as 49 lives were lost when the barge sank.
The Yellow Gate police on Friday lodged an FIR against Captain Balwinder Singh of barge P305 and several others. The complaint was lodged by chief engineer Rahman Shaikh.&nbsp;
The captain has been accused of staying in the sea along with his crew despite receiving instructions to return to the Mumbai harbour in the wake of Cyclone Tauktae.

The Mumbai Police registered a case against the captain of the barge which sank in the Arabian sea during Cyclone Tauktae.
49 bodies have been recovered so far and 26 people are still missing five days after the incident. According to news agency PTI, the captain is one of those still missing.

The cyclone also damaged Mumbai's jumbo Covid centre in Bandra Kurla Complex.

With winds gusting up to 185 km per hour, the very severe cyclonic storm Tauktae began making landfall on the Gujarat coast on Monday night.
Over 1.5 lakh people have been evacuated from the low-lying coast areas and at least 17 covid patients on ventilator support in the Porbandar Civil Hospital's ICU have been shifted to other facilities.
54 teams of the NDRF and SDRF remain deployed in the region and the NDRF headquarters is closely monitoring the situation through its 24x7 control room.
11 diving teams have been kept on standby and 12 flood rescue and medical teams are also ready for immediate response.
