<p>Actor Paresh Rawal's upcoming film "The Taj Story" has sparked a huge controversy over its poster depicting him removing the dome of the Taj Mahal and a statue of Lord Shiva emerging from it, prompting the filmmakers to say it does not "deal with any religious matters".</p>
<p>Presented by Swarnim Global Service Pvt Ltd, the movie is directed by Tushar Amrish Goel and produced by CA Suresh Jha.</p>
<p>Rawal and the filmmakers released the poster of the film on Monday.</p>
<p>The poster caption reads, "What if everything you&rsquo;ve been taught is a lie? The truth isn&rsquo;t just hidden; it&rsquo;s being judged. Unveil the facts with #TheTajStory on 31st October in cinemas near you," read the caption.</p>

<p>The backlash was swift with many social media users terming it "propaganda" and "fake".</p>
<p>Swarnim Global Service Pvt Ltd countered with a statement shortly after.</p>
<p>"The makers of the film 'The Taj Story' clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request you to watch the film and form your own opinion," it said.</p>

<p>But the debate continued.</p>
<p>Several people said it appeared to be the latest example of propaganda in cinema after recently released titles like "The Udaipur Files" and "The Bengal Files".</p>
<p>"Looking at the poster, it seems like an attempt to portray the Taj Mahal as a religious site. The Taj Mahal is the tomb of two lovers. Nothing more than that.</p>
<p>"In the medieval period, all the European travelers who came to India, whether Fran&ccedil;ois Bernier, Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, or Peter Mundy, described the Taj Mahal as a mausoleum built by Shah Jahan, not a temple," said one user on X.</p>
<p>Another user criticised Rawal for doing a movie like "The Taj Story".</p>
<p>"What a downfall @SirPareshRawal. From 'OMG' to #fake 'The Taj Story'," posted the user, referring to Rawal's critically-acclaimed 2012 movie "Oh My God", in which he played an atheist lawyer who sues God.</p>
<p>"The film The Taj Story revives the debunked claim that the Taj Mahal was once a Hindu temple. Historians reject it as pseudo-history, but critics fear it fuels communal divides. The Taj remains a 17th-century Mughal masterpiece - India&rsquo;s shared heritage," a user posted.</p>
<p>Another post read, "Bollywood now pushing propaganda with #TheTajStory a film twisting history by showing the Taj Mahal as a temple. A country boasting of being the 4th largest economy is drowning in fantasy &amp; communal myths. When propaganda feels ashamed, you know it&rsquo;s India 2025." A person called Taj Mahal "India&rsquo;s pride in global tourism".</p>
<p>"But BJP/filmmakers wants to rewrite its story with The Taj Story movie&mdash;turning heritage into propaganda. History doesn&rsquo;t change just because you want votes," the person posted.</p>
<p>Rawal was BJP MP from Ahmedabad East from 2014 to 2019.</p>
<p>Though the plotline film remains unclear, the makers had said in an earlier statement that the film raises the "questions and the secrets that are buried behind the 22 sealed doors of The Taj Mahal".</p>
<p>The movie also "promises to present a chapter from Indian history that no one has ever dared to present before", the makers claimed.</p>
<p>On August 14 this year, Rawal, 70, had shared a brief scene from the movie on his social media handles. He captioned it, "After 79 year of Independence are we still a slave of Intellectual Terrorism?" The courtroom scene showed Rawal's character arguing in front of the judges and saying, "Azaadi ke 78 saal baad bhi humari soch, nazariya unhi logo ke talve chaat raha hai jinhone lesh matra sankoch nahi kiya humari poori sabhyata ko khatam karne ki, humare astitva ko mitane ki. (Even after 78 years of independence, our thinking and perspective still bow down to those who did not hesitate in the slightest to try and destroy our entire civilisation and erase our existence)." The character then says it is time to now raise questions.</p>
<p>"If we do not raise them today, our history and our very existence will remain nothing more than questions," he adds.</p>
<p>The cast of "The Taj Story" also includes actors Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das.</p>

<p>The Supreme Court upholds its tree-felling ban near the Taj Mahal, ensuring environmental protection within a five-kilometer radius.</p>

<p>The Supreme Court on Thursday reiterated its 2015 directive restricting tree felling within a 5-kilometer aerial distance of the Taj Mahal in Agra, UP, without its nod.</p>
<p>The Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ), which is the subject matter before the top court, is an area of approximately 10,400 square kilometers that spreads across Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Hathras, and Etah districts in UP and Bharatpur district in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>A bench of Justices Abhay S. Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan said tree felling in areas within TTZ beyond the 5-kilometer distance of the historical monument will require the prior permission of the divisional forest officer (DFO) of the central empowered committee (CEC), and the officer will be bound by the provisions of the UP Tree Preservation Act.</p>
<p>"Areas located within 5 kilometers of the Taj Mahal are concerned; the original order dated May 8, 2015, will continue to operate. In such cases, applications will have to be made seeking permission to fell trees, even if trees are less than 50. This court will seek a recommendation from the Central Empowered Committee and will thereafter consider felling of trees," the bench said.</p>
<p>It added, "Unless there is grave urgency for the felling of trees, the Divisional Forest Officer has to impose a condition that actual tree felling can be done only once all other conditions, including compensatory afforestation, are complied with." The DFO or CEC were first directed to ensure compliance with the prescribed conditions before allowing felling of trees.</p>
<p>"We make it clear that the exception will apply only when there is grave urgency to fell trees in the sense that if action of felling of trees is not immediately undertaken, there may be the possibility of loss of human life," the bench said.</p>
<p>The court further sought a report from the CEC indicating whether any additional restrictions should be imposed for protecting two other world heritage structures, namely Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.</p>
<p>The court, in the meantime, dismissed another plea of an Agra-based trust seeking the condition to obtain prior permission to fell trees on private lands to be relaxed.</p>
<p>The TTZ, an area of approximately 10,400 square kilometers, spreads across Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Hathras, and Etah districts in UP and Bharatpur district in Rajasthan.</p>
<p>The top court, in its May 8 order, mandated that no tree felling could occur in the TTZ without prior court approval, a measure aimed at curbing deforestation and protecting the region&rsquo;s biodiversity.</p>
<p>On December 11, 2019, the apex court modified this order, removing the requirement for prior permission for tree felling on non-forest and private lands within the TTZ.</p>

<p>Upon their arrival at the Agra airport, the Vance family was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. <p>Ghaziabad (413), Gurugram (369), Noida (403), Greater Noida (396) and Faridabad (426) also reported hazardous air quality at 7 am on Monday morning.&nbsp;</p>
<p>GRAP categorises actions into four stages: Stage I - 'Poor' (AQI 201-300); Stage II - 'Very Poor' (AQI 301-400); Stage III - 'Severe' (AQI 401-450); and Stage IV - 'Severe Plus' (AQI 450). The city's AQI stood at 440 at 7 a.m. on Monday.</p>

<p>A man from India's Tamil Nadu has built a memorial modelled on the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.</p>
<p>As per News18, Amrudheen Sheik Dawood built the stunning replica to honour his late mother Jailani Bheevi. Bheebi passed away in 2020. Reportedly, she raised Dawood and his 4 sisters single-handedly after his father died.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Taj Mahal in Agra, often cited as one of the wonders of the world, was commissioned by Shah Jahan to act as the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal.</p>
<p>As per historical accounts, Mumtaz Mahal died in the Shahi Mahal in Burhanpur in June 1631. Her mortal remains were preserved for six months in a grave known as Ahukhana before they were shifted to Agra, where the original Taj Mahal was later constructed.</p>
<p>Local historians said Shah Jahan initially wanted to build the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Tapti River in the Burhanpur district but chose Agra due to some reasons.</p>
