Days after veteran actor Anupam Kher announced his next project, where he will be portraying the role of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Swastika Mukherjee took to Twitter to hint at her disapproval.
 She said that no one should play Robi Thakur and tweeted, &lsquo;Leave the man alone&rsquo;.
 Several Bengalis agreed with Swastika and dropped similar comments on the post.
 One of her followers wrote, &lsquo;No one should play Rabi Thakur for a purpose,&rsquo; while another added, &lsquo;Bengal knows him well, rest of India not so much. His story should be told and cinema is a good medium. But all depends which phase of his life is being depicted. If it&rsquo;s just the latter days at Shantiniketan then that is very less of a story.&rsquo;

 Sharing the first look of him as Tagore, he wrote, &lsquo;Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. Ye mere saubhagya hai ki mujhe gurudev ko parde par saakaar karne ka saubhagya parpt hua hai. Jald hi is film ki adhik jankaari apke sath sanjha krunga (It is my fortune that I have got the privilege of bringing alive Gurudev on screen! I will share more information about this film soon).&rsquo;
 On the work front, Anupam Kher also has the Vivek Agnihotri directorial &lsquo;The Vaccine War&rsquo;, Telugu film &lsquo;Tiger Nagewara Rao&rsquo;, and Kannada film &lsquo;Ghost&rsquo; in his kitty.

Actor Swastika Mukherjee has accused Sandeep Sarkar, co-producer of her upcoming film 'Shibpur', of sending her threatening emails. She claimed that he and his associates asked her to 'cooperate' with them and also claimed they have threatened to leak her morphed, nude pictures on pornography sites.
Swastika had filed a complaint at Kolkata's Golf Green Police Station last month and also sought help from Eastern India Motion Pictures Association.
The actor opened up about the harassment in an interview with OTT Play and said that she was never introduced to Sandeep during the entire course of shooting and dubbing. Another co-producer Ajanta Sinha Roy communicated with them and he suddenly started sending threatening emails to her.
Swastika further said that Sandeep claimed to be an American citizen and threatened her that if she didn't cooperate he would get in touch with the US Consulate so that she never gets a US visa. He also threatened to drag her to the Police Commissioner, Chief Minister, and so on.
Besides Swastika, her manager also received threatening mail from Ravish Sharma, who claimed to be Sandeep Sarkar's friend.
Swastika Mukherjee was last seen in &lsquo;Qala&rsquo; alongside Tripti Dimri and Babil Khan. Her Bengali film, &lsquo;Shibpur&rsquo;, was initially scheduled to release in March, but now it will hit the theatres on May 5.
