His stellar 1995&ndash;96 Ranji Trophy season, where he scored 500 runs and took 50 wickets, set the stage for a memorable career.
The 1996 Ranji season marked Joshi&rsquo;s entry into international cricket. His Test debut against England was a dream come true, and he soon made a mark in One Day Internationals as well. Despite his consistent performances, Joshi faced the disappointment of being left out of the 1999 ODI World Cup squad.
