The little master further wrote that the 2007 and 2011 teams had batsmen who could bowl and bowlers who were no bunnies with the bat.

The batting legend stressed the need of having at least two all-rounders in the team to prosper India's chances in World T20 in 2022 and ODI World Cup in 2023.
Notably, the Indian team that was knocked out of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 even before the semi-final stage and this team too lacked players with all-around capabilities.
It has also been observed that the Indian team did not have batters in the team who can chip in with one or two overs when needed.

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke came close to the mark but missed it by 5 runs in 2012. Meanwhile, Root also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's and Sunil Gavaskar's records of 1562 and 1549 runs respectively while coursing towards the milestone.
