Starbucks new CEO, Brian Niccol, will super-commute to work, covering 1,000 miles or 1,600 kilometres. This is not the first time Niccol has managed to strike such a deal with his employer.

Brian Niccol, the incoming CEO of global coffee major Starbucks, will travel 1,600 kilometers to work. The new Starbucks chief, who lives in Newport Beach, California, won&rsquo;t have to relocate to Seattle.
Instead, he will &lsquo;super-commute&rsquo; to the company&rsquo;s headquarters using a corporate jet. The details of his travel arrangement were revealed in his offer letter filed by the company with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Sharing the details of his work schedule, Starbucks told editorji, "Brian&rsquo;s primary office and a majority of his time will be spent in the Starbucks Seattle Support Center or visiting partners and customers in stores, roasteries, roasting facilities and offices around the world. Brian&rsquo;s schedule will exceed the hybrid work guidelines and workplace expectations Starbucks has for all partners.&rdquo;
The Chipotle Deal
Speaking of Brian Niccol&rsquo;s travel arrangements with Starbucks, this is not the first time he has struck such a deal. When he joined fast-food giant Chipotle in 2018, the company was headquartered in Denver. However, within three months of Niccol taking over as its chief executive, Chipotle moved its headquarters to Newport Beach, where he lived.
<h3>Base Salary of $1.6 Million</h3>
While his commute has become the talk of the town, it is still just a fraction of Brian Niccol&rsquo;s new pay package. According to the SEC filing, the new Starbucks chief will draw an annual base salary of $1.6 million.
 Based on his performance, he can also earn an annual cash bonus in the range of $3.6 million to $7.2 million. Additionally, Niccol will be eligible for equity awards worth up to $23 million a year.
<h3>Laxman Narasimhan&rsquo;s Sudden Exit</h3>
Brian Niccol is taking over after Starbucks dismissed its Indian-American CEO Laxman Narasimhan earlier this month. Narasimhan had taken over as the interim CEO of the coffee major in October 2022, with the appointment becoming permanent in April 2023. While he was brought in to rejuvenate the company after a tumultuous phase, the Starbucks board replaced him with Niccol, who is known for the turnaround at Chipotle.

The boycotts at the Seattle, Washington-based chain have deep roots, touching on sensitive geopolitical issues after the company found itself in hot water following a tweet from Starbucks Workers United, the union representing many of its baristas, expressing solidarity with Palestinians.
&ldquo;Amid an ongoing boycott due to the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Gaza strip, the undercurrent of discontent signals a challenging brew for the company's future,&rdquo; an industry analyst said.
The company has denied wrongdoing in the scenarios but faces the challenge of maintaining its brand reputation amid divisive global issues.

A social media user on X shared a thread about the secret recipes of Starbucks and wrote, 'you're welcome' The list had it all, from Pink drink to iced Chai latte, the list surely covered it all.&nbsp;
As social media users came across this, they showed their excitement in the comments section. Several people responded by saying that now there is no need to visit Starbucks. Others reacted by saying these drinks are not a secret anymore.&nbsp;
The identity of the ex-employee is not revealed and it is currently not clear from which branch the employee was fired. A federal jury in New Jersey has ordered coffee giant Starbucks to pay $25.6 million to its ex-manager Shannon Phillips in a racial discrimination case. As per AP, the former Starbucks regional manager alleged that she and other white employees were unfairly punished after the high-profile arrests of two Black men at a Philadelphia location in 2018.
As per the account, two black men were waiting at Starbucks and the staff refused one of them to use the washroom as they hadn't bought anything. The men refused to leave and the staff had to call the police, who handcuffed the pair and escorted them from the cafe.
This created a massive public outcry and Starbucks had to close all its outlets in the U.S. To handle the situation, Starbucks fired Ms Phillips who was not even the regional manager of Philadelphia branch and retained the manager of that particular branch who happened to be black.
Ms Phillips' lawyers argued that she was used as a scapegoat to show that action was being taken following the incident. The court has now ordered Starbucks to pay Ms Phillips $600,000 as compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages

On being intimated about the theft by a customer at the outlet, Starbucks' employee captured accused's car number and reported the matter.

The walkouts coincide with Starbucks' annual Red Cup Day, when the company gives free reusable cups to customers who order a holiday drink. Workers say it's often one of the busiest days of the year. Starbucks declined to say how many red cups it plans to distribute.
Workers say they're seeking better pay, more consistent schedules and higher staffing levels in busy stores. Stores in 25 states planned to take part in the labour action, according to Starbucks Workers United, the group organizing the effort. Strikers are handing out their own red cups with union logos.
Starbucks, which opposes the unionization effort, said it is aware of the walkouts and respects its employees' right to lawfully protest. The Seattle company noted that the protests are happening at a small number of its 9,000 company-run US locations.

With the theme 'Blend is the magic', they have two special beverages- Cocoa Snowball Dark Mocha and the Toffee Nut Crunch Latte. That's not all.. get yourself some exciting Christmas merchandise.

Starbucks is offering free reusable red holiday cups only on November 2 but the caveat is you  need to first order a holiday beverage. These reusable cups will give you 50 cents off on any of the grande-sized holiday drinks ordered between November 3 and January 7. Keep in mind, free red cups are limited edition and only last till the supply lasts on November 2. 

Starbucks opened its first sign language US store in Washington DC. All employees are fluent in American sign language. The store has opened close to Gallaudet University, an institution that caters to students with hearing impairments. The store has sign language on the walls and on the aprons of the staff. The store also includes tech pads and fingerspelling to make it convenient. 

For International Coffee Day, celebrations by Starbucks for a week interestingly called " Brewtober" .From the 1st till the 7th of October, the coffee house will offer different deals everyday across stores in India. The deals range from 'Travel the world in 7 sips' to   'Latte with a heart' and 'Starbucks 100', among others.
