Amid apprehensions over the commercial rollout of Russian <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/sputnik-v-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-russian-vaccine-1618243022603" target="_blank">Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V in India</a>, Dr Reddy&rsquo;s Laboratories has assured to strengthen the commercial roll-out of Sputnik V in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Dr Reddy's said, neither the ongoing soft commercial launch nor work towards its ramp-up in India have been put on hold.

Meanwhile, the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), who are behind the formulation of Sputnik V, on Monday said that individuals vaccinated with Sputnik V will be protected against the new variants of SARS-CoV-2, including the Delta variant, first detected in India.

While Russia's Sputnik V vaccine is already available in India, Dr Reddys&nbsp;Laboratories CEO&nbsp;Deepak&nbsp;Sapra&nbsp;has said that his company is now trying to seek regulatory approval for the single-dose Sputnik V Light vaccine. The Hyderabad-based pharma&nbsp;giant has also partnered with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to bring the 2 dose vaccine to India. Sapra&nbsp;who confirmed that the Clinical trials of the single-dose vaccine are being conducted in Russia&nbsp;added&nbsp;that Sputnik Light's single shot will be able to give 80% efficacy. Hoping that the vaccine is approved for use in India, he further said that Sputnik Light will be a shot in the arm for the country's vaccination program. Moreover, the CEO&nbsp;of the company also assured that Sputnik V which is currently being administered in a few private hospitals of India will&nbsp;be more affordable as the production starts in India.&nbsp;
