Squash player Dipika Pallikal created history after winning two gold medals at the PSA world doubles championships at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre in Glasgow on Saturday. Dipika won the mixed doubles gold with Saurav Ghosal and teamed up with Joshna Chinappa in women's doubles to win the women's doubles final.
The pair of Saurav and Dipika defeated the English pair of Adrian Waller and Alison in two straight sets 11-6, 11-8 in 22 minutes. While the mixed doubles game was easy for the Indian pair, the Indian pair of Dipika and Joshna had to fight hard for the women's doubles title. Dipika and Joshna won against another English pair Sarah-Jane Perry and Alison Waters 11-9, 4-11, 11-8.
Dipika, a mother of two children has been off the competitive squash for the last three years and she made her comeback in the squash world in a stunning style. The world doubles titles are the first-ever for the Indian pairs.

Alpine skier Mohammad Arif Khan has become the first Indian to be eligible to compete at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in the slalom event.
Arif Khan finished ninth, 10th and twice finished 11th in four slalom events over the past week at the Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. The four slalom events in Dubai were the only four competitions Mohammad Arif Khan has taken part in during the qualification period.
The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will be held from February 4 to 20. The men&rsquo;s slalom event will be held on February 16.
Khan, who has represented India in more than 100 ski events held across the world, had been undergoing ski training in Europe for the most part of this year. He is set to become the only skier to represent India in Winter Olympics this year.

The only female boxer to win World Amateur Championships 6 times, the only boxer male or female to win 8 World Championships, the only boxer to win Asian Amateur Championships 6 times. Magnificent Mary also has an Olympic bronze medal, an Asian Games gold medal and a Commonwealth gold medal. Delivering knockout after knockout, Mary has proved that being a sportsperson and being a mother is not an either-or situation nor is it a despite situation --- even before such questions about her could have been raised.
Sania Mirza
Sania Mirza has a lot of firsts to her name as a female tennis player from India. When she played the 2006 Australian Open, she was first female Indian player to be seeded and already had a Wimbledon Girls&rsquo; grand slam to her name and yet there was no dearth of people who chose to concentrate on the length of her skirts and dresses. But Mirza sliced all of it with her forehand and is now a winner of 6 grand slam titles and a former world number 1 in doubles.

She is a former World No.1 &ndash; first female Indian player and second overall after Prakash Padukone to get the top ranking. &nbsp;

Reforming Sports Quotas in India With Nandan Kamath
