A day after actor Akshay Kumar announced the release date of &lsquo;Soorarai Pottru&rsquo; Hindi remake, Suriya, who starred in the original took to Twitter to give a shoutout to the film. Tagging Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, and Paresh Rawal in a tweet, he wished them good luck.
Suriya wrote, &lsquo;Here's to seeing Production No. 27 SOAR on September 1st 2023. Good Luck Team.&rsquo; Suriya will have a cameo appearance in the Hindi remake of &lsquo;Soorarai Pottru&rsquo;. He posted a picture from the sets of the film on social media last year. He wrote: &lsquo;Akshay Kumar sir to see you as Vir was nostalgic! Sudha Kongara can see our story beautifully coming alive again. Enjoyed every minute with team Soorarai Pootru Hindi in a brief cameo.&rsquo;
The Hindi remake of &lsquo;Soorarai Pottru&rsquo; will release in theatres worldwide on September 1, 2023.
&lsquo;Soorarai Pottru&rsquo; won multiple awards at last year's National Film Awards. Suriya won Best Actor, while Aparna Balamurali won Best Actress for the film. The Sudha Kongara directorial also won Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Background Score. The film was based on the life of Simplify Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath.

Radhika Madan and Akshay Kumar have come together to star in the Hindi remake of Suriya's film, Soorarai Pottru. The yet-to-be-titled film has began its filming today.
Akshay took to his Instagram handle to share the video of the muhurat shot of the film. In the video, Radhika is seen breaking a coconut. He captioned the video, "With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes (sic)."
Radhika was seen decked up in his character as she donned a red saree and sported braided hair, while Akshay held the clapboard. He spored a grey t-shirt and a pair of pants. Soorarai Pottru was written and directed by Sudha, who also be directing the Hindi remake. The original film starred Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles. The movie was released on November 12, 2020.
