It narrated the story of Prem, a lookalike of Prince Yuvraj Vijay Singh, who replaces him just before his half-brother is set to be crowned as the king. Princess Maithili, who is engaged to Vijay, falls in love with Prem.
Vivah (2006)

Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

Suman's father leaves her in the care of his best friend&rsquo;s family as he has to travel abroad for work. She meets Prem and the two fall in love. &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo;, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, and Boman Irani, is all set to release on November 11. In a video posted by Rajshri Productions on Youtube, the cast is seen talking about their film, and in a segment, Anupam recalls how he had to convince Boman for the film. The latter was reportedly going through a tough time because of which he was not sure about taking the project. &nbsp;
Anupam said, &lsquo;I called him and asked, &lsquo;Tum pagal ho kya, tum iss picture mein kyu nahi kaam karna chahte (Are you mad? Why don&rsquo;t you want to work on this project)? It is one of the finest films I have worked on.&rsquo;
Renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, who directed and produced the film, said that this is not his style of filmmaking and when he took the project people were so caught up in the trials and tribulations of Covid-19 pandemic. The filmmaker went on to share that &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo; was not his film but a writer gave it to him in 2016. He also said that he bought the rights of the movie and decided on taking it to ignite hope in the people. He said he wanted to challenge himself with this project. &nbsp;
The movie also stars Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Parineeti Chopra in pivotal roles.

Actor Salman Khan is all set to reunite with Sooraj Barjatya. He put an end to all the speculations and confirmed the news at the star-studded special screening of &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo; in Mumbai. The actor-director duo arrived at the screening together. The media stationed outside the venue asked Sooraj if he has any thoughts of making Salman&rsquo;s iconic Prem series of characters in his next film. He responded that &lsquo;Prem will return.&rsquo; He further added that the title is registered for the same.

Meanwhile, &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo; will hit theatres on November 11 and is expected to make a good box office collection. At the screening, celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Kangana Ranaut, and others were spotted including Salman. Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film 'Uunchai,' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, and Parineeti Chopra among others. At the trailer launch event, the director revealed that actor Salman Khan was willing to work in the movie, but he said &lsquo;no&rsquo; because he was looking for a different cast.
The director said, 'When I was making this, Salman asked me, Sooraj what are you making? then, Why are you going to the hills? Then he also told me, I can do this film! I said no! Because we all know he can climb mountains. But I needed people who can look as if they can't.'
Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan have worked together in many blockbusters movies such as &lsquo;Maine Pyar Kiya&rsquo;, &lsquo;Hum Saath-Saath Hain&rsquo;, &lsquo;Hum Aapke Hain Koun&rsquo;, and others.
The filmmaker, who has always considered the onscreen name Prem as a lucky charm for his films, revealed that &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo; will be his first film that doesn't have a character with that name.
He said, 'I have broken all barriers for this film. There once was a charm that if you name a character Prem, the film will work. But I've let go of that. In the pandemic, everything was slipping away, so there was no point holding onto anything.'
