A recent report by Counterpoint reveals a growing appetite for high-end smartphones in India, priced at a whopping ₹1 lakh or more.
In the first half of 2024, shipments of these premium devices saw a significant boost. Q1 alone witnessed a 20% year-on-year increase, and Q2 followed with an additional 10% rise.
Though these luxury phones account for just over 1% of the total smartphone market, their popularity is skyrocketing.
With the launch of new models like the Samsung Galaxy Foldables and the latest iPhone series, analysts predict even more growth in the second half of 2024.
Samsung currently dominates this segment with a 73% market share, while Apple holds a solid 26%.

According to commerce department data, there was a 158% increase in shipments to the US at $5.6 billion. This massive surge drove the overall spike in smartphone exports. Following US, India has exported smartphones worth $2.6 billion to United Arab Emirates, $1.2 billion to Netherlands and $1.1 billion to the UK.&nbsp;
Among the exports, iPhone maker Apple has lead the charge with the value of outbound shipments of mobile devices expected to have crossed $14.39 billion in FY24, up 33% as compared to FY23.&nbsp;
As per preliminary estimates by the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), the value of mobile devices produced in India for both export and domestic markets in FY24 soared to $49.16 billion, up at least 17% year-on-year.
Indian has been tapping into China-Plus-One strategy which is focused on leveraging the geopolitical tensions between that country and the US to woo companies manufacturing in China and persuade them to shift to India. Government's Production Linked Incentive Scheme has also helped India to become the second largest mobile phone manufacturing country, after China.

As a result, India has become the third-largest exporter of smartphones to the US. Additionally, Indian smartphones' market share in the US has risen sharply to 7.76% during this fiscal year, up from just 2% last year.

Higher share in US market The increasing outbound shipments led to an increase in India's share of the US smartphone market, which soared to 7.76% during April-December 2023 from just 2% in the same period of the previous year, the data showed.
Third largest smartphone exporter to US The 3.5x growth in India's smartphone exports has now made India the third-biggest smartphone exporter to the US. On the other hand, during the nine-month period, the share of China and Vietnam declined.
Exports from China, Vietnam drop
China exported $35.1 billion worth of smartphones to the US market in April-December 2023, down from $38.26 billion last year.
Vietnam&rsquo;s shipments of phones declined to $5.47 billion in April-December 2023 from $9.36 billion in the same period of the previous year. Other two major smartphone exporters to the US are South Korea and Hong Kong.
South Korea&rsquo;s exports to America during the period under review increased to $858 million from $432 million, while Hong Kong&rsquo;s sales slipped to $112 million from $132 million in April-December 2022.

The US smartphone imports from the top five suppliers also declined during April-December 2023 to $45.1 billion from $49.1 billion in 2023.
Smartphone boost for India's exports
Smartphones started registering their presence in the Indian export basket in 2022-23 when shipments touched $10.95 billion. With the continued momentum, exports have touched USD 10.5 billion in April-December 2023-24.

This resulted in excess inventory levels across distribution channels, even with price adjustments and promotional schemes from vendors.
One notable trend driving market dynamics is the steadily increasing average selling price (ASP), which reached a record US$255 in 2023, marking a 14 per cent year-over-year increase. This surge is primarily attributed to the growing share of the premium segment (US$600+) and the rapid adoption of 5G-enabled devices.
According to Upasana Joshi, Research Manager at IDC India, most brands resorted to price reductions and increased channel margins in the final quarter of 2023 to address inventory challenges. However, this cautious approach is expected to lead to a tepid start for 2024, with channels exercising restraint in stocking.
The report also highlights shifting dynamics in distribution channels, with online channel shipments declining by 6% in 2023, while offline channel shipments saw an 8% year-over-year growth. This trend underscores vendors' efforts to strengthen their retail presence, particularly in smaller towns and cities.

As per market researcher Trendforce, two key suppliers of DRAM (memory chips), Samsung and Micron are expected to implement a 15-20% price increase in the March quarter. The likely price rise of DRAM could be attributed to tighter supply of the memory chip following accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, along with a gradual recovery in smartphone and PC markets.
&ldquo;For products where inventory is more abundant, such as LPDDR4X or those from older manufacturing processes, the estimated contract price increase will be about 3&ndash;8% for the quarter. In contrast, LPDDR5(X) appears to be in tighter supply, with projected contract price increases of 5&ndash;10%,&rdquo; TrendForce said in a January report.
A top smartphone industry executive told The Economic Times that the price rise impact will be felt from next quarter as most of the vendors have adequate inventory of components to supply products in the March quarter.
&ldquo;We anticipate a surge in memory prices, expected along the lines of 10-15% due to high demand in the third week of February to first week of March. If this happens, everyone will have to increase prices, but the recent duty cuts can help us nullify the impact to an extent,&rdquo; the executive told the publication.
As per the industry expert quoted by The Economic Times, strengthening of Chinese Yuan could also impact the prices as smartphone brands in India have shifted to directly transacting with Chinese component makers in their local currency, yuan as against Dollar which was used earlier.
Yuan has recovered from a low of Rs 11.32 in June 2023 to Rs 12.08 in December, marking a 6.7% rise.&nbsp;
<h3>Impact on demand</h3>
Meanwhile, market trackers have warmed that an increase in end-prices may hurt demand which is just starting to show signs of resurgence. So, a way out for brands could be to offer lower memory and storage in budget smartphones instead of raising handset prices.
&ldquo;The contribution of memory in the bill of materials (BoM) of budget smartphones is much higher. Due to lower memory prices, brands have been offering up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage under Rs 10,000. That will now get impacted after memory prices increase,&rdquo; said Shilpi Jain senior research analyst at Counterpoint Research told The Economic Times.
This is also expected to affect the penetration of 5G handsets under Rs 10,000, which was projected to rise this year as Counterpoint now expects an estimated 1-2% of all shipments under Rs 10,000 to have 5G support, down from its November 2023 projection of 4%.

The report also mentioned that apart from the direct jobs, there is also a likelihood of 80,000-1,00,000 jobs being created by smartphone manufacturing companies in the next 12-24 months.
This as leading mobile brands, their suppliers, and assembly partners are looking to set up manufacturing in India and thus ramp up their hiring. Chief Executive-staffing at TeamLease Kartik Narayan told Economic Times that the services have over 5,000 vacancies in mobile manufacturing with more positions in the pipeline.
"We are expecting 40,000-60,000 direct jobs in phone manufacturing pan India by March 2024", Kartik Narayan told Economic Times

As per the Economic Times, iPhones constitute 80% of the smartphone exports from India, while the rest comprises the phones of Korea's Samsung and some local brands.&nbsp;
Apple has been expanding its supply chain out of China and India is emerging as an iPhone production hub. India's smartphone production-linked incentive scheme has made Apple to shift its focus to India.&nbsp;
As per ET, India is also hoping to use Apple's deepening engagement as an example to convince other US companies such as Tesla to shift their supply chains here. This is the new Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung's Apex predator. The first time I picked up this phone, I thought I was holding the older S22 Ultra in my hand. It has the same boxy shape, the same display and the same battery. On top of that, the front camera sees a major resolution downgrade from 40 megapixels to just 12-megapixels. &nbsp;
Sure, on paper, the S23 Ultra doesn't really seem like a huge improvement, &nbsp;but after spending some quality time with it, I can be sure that this is Samsung's most refined product, and is well worth your consideration.
There's a lot to like about this phone and it does come with two big additions, more on those later.

AUDIO
The most impactful and memorable changes are the subtle ones. For instance, the speakers on the S23 Ultra are significantly louder than its predecessor, and offer a surprisingly rich bass. This is a welcome change and shows that Samsung is making significant strides in the audio department.
FRONT CAMERA
Additionally, the front-facing 12MP camera on the S23 Ultra provides improved selfie quality, even with a lower resolution than the S22 Ultra. This is most likely due to the new Super HDR feature that captures brighter and more detailed selfie snaps.&nbsp;
SOFTWARE
These enhancements are further complimented by the new One UI 5.1 skin based on Android 13, which offers custom modes and routines for various daily activities, such as sleeping, driving and working. The updated software also includes Bixby Text Call, allowing users to respond to phone calls with voice-dictated text from the call screen, and the ability to access Expert RAW mode directly from the camera app.
DESIGN&nbsp;
Then there's the design, which looks almost identical to the S22 Ultra. Even the default colours aren't that different from last time around. However, there are some thoughtful upgrades such as the sides of the phone being flatter and thicker, which improves grip and makes it feel a little better in my hand. The S23 Ultra is designed to be more durable too, as it's the first phone with Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2, both on the front and back, so it should be a tough nut to crack, but I was quite reluctant to test this theory.&nbsp;
Samsung hasn't just created a tougher and visually appealing flagship phone. They are also focusing on environmental sustainability, and have managed to make the Ultra's display out of 22 percent recycled glass.
DISPLAY
Talking about that display, it remains as beautiful as ever and showcases stunning visuals, just like the screen on the S22 Ultra. Its standout aspect is undoubtedly its massive size, measuring 6.8 inches and featuring an AMOLED 2x display with a wide aspect ratio, which provides an optimal and immersive media experience. The only noteworthy change to the front panel is that it is less curved than the S22 Ultra, resulting in a larger and flatter surface area. In addition, the Vision Booster feature has been updated to adjust to three lighting levels instead of two, further enhancing its visibility in sunlight.
Apart from these minor tweaks, the technical specs of the screen remain unchanged from last year's model, such as its peak brightness of 1,750 nits, 1440p resolution, and LTPO technology, which allows for a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.
I would like to have seen Samsung take its next step by raising the refresh to 144 Hz for better high frame rate gaming for example. Despite this, the S23 Ultra continues to excel in various aspects, especially when it comes to performance.
PERFORMANCE
And this leads me to my first big change on the S 23 Ultra. The phones features the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset across all regions, eliminating the division between Snapdragon and Exynos variants. This means that at least for this year, the one-phone-two-chipsets dilemma has been avoided.
Oh, and by the way, this is no ordinary Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, it's a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, which has been specially optimised for the S23 series However, before you get excited, I should point out that it's just a slightly overclocked processor. The S23 Ultra definitely scores higher on the benchmark tests but it's not noticeably faster in carrying out day to day operations than let's say the iQOO 11, which runs on the standard 8 Gen 2.&nbsp;
Comparisons aside, the S23 Ultra is a beast of a smartphone blazing through everything from multitasking to high graphic gaming without breaking a sweat. Plus, the GPU comes with ray tracing capabilities for enhanced light and shadow rendering in games, which is pretty cool. .&nbsp;
Now, all this extra power does require extra cooling, and the S23 Ultra is equipped with a larger vapor chamber which efficiently transfers heat away from the processor. The back of the phone may experience some warmth during extended gaming, but it is notably less warm compared to previous models, indicating that Samsung has been listening to feedback.
The other advantage this phone has over its predecessor is the inclusion of UFS 4.0 storage. This makes it the fastest flash memory in the world, as we recently experienced with the iQOO 11. The UFS 4.0 storage enables lightning-fast file transfers and reads, almost two times faster than the previous version, while consuming less power. This means that if you frequently transfer large files to your computer, you will notice a substantial difference in speed and efficiency.
It's also nice to see that Samsung continues to offer a range of high storage options for its top tier flagship devices in India, including 256GB, 512GB, and an impressive 1TB. Furthermore, all variants of the S23 Ultra come equipped with a substantial 12GB of RAM.
 On a side note, I wanted to mention this is very much a 5G powered device and you don't have to wait for a software update to access fast internet speeds. You're &nbsp;good to go right out of the box!&nbsp;
REAR CAMERAS
Now, let's talk about the biggest and obvious highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, its 200-megapixel sensor. That's a crazy number for a smartphone camera but the true value of this sensor lies in its use of pixel binning, a technique that combines multiple pixels into one to improve image quality. &nbsp;
Essentially, the larger sensor now lets you take both 50MP and 12.5MP binned photos, striking a desirable balance between high resolution images and storage efficiency. More importantly though, the main camera consistently delivers exceptional results. These are some really nice and sharp photos with superb dynamic range.&nbsp;
However, I will admit that Samsung's tendency to produce highly saturated colours has been amplified in this year's Ultra model. The camera's software tends to set the vibrancy of things like the sky, leaves, and flowers to its highest level.
To truly understand what I mean, just check out some of these comparison shots with the Pixel 7 Pro. It's quite clear that the Pixel adopts a more conservative and natural approach to colour reproduction, whereas the S23 Ultra produces over processed results with enhanced colours. But, most likely it will be the latter that ends up finding a place in your social media feed.
Samsung has also advanced its night photography through the use of its main sensor's pixel binning process. This allows for clearer photos to be captured in low light situations.
The improvements in low-light photography enhance the performance of the S23 Ultra's Astrophotography mode too.&nbsp; Sadly, I was unable to test this feature due to the polluted sky in Delhi.
Another benefit of the 200MP sensor is faster autofocus performance. Samsung says it's now 1.5X faster, and in my testing the S23 Ultra's camera is a lot quicker than the S22 Ultra's at capturing focus.&nbsp;
The other three rear cameras stay the same: a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and two 10-megapixel telephotos that feature the same combination of a three-times optical zoom camera and a ten-times optical zoom camera with a maximum zoom range of 100 times. Samsung claims that the upgraded processor in this model provides enhanced AI processing, leading to a noticeable improvement in the quality of zoom shots, and I am inclined to agree with them. In comparison to the S22 Ultra, my testing shows that the S23 Ultra delivers sharper results, especially when zooming in on people, at both 30X and 100X digital magnification.
For most people, the 3x and 10x optical zoom capabilities are more than good enough as they provide clear images of distant subjects without seeing much loss in detail. &nbsp; I also noticed that the new Ultra is finally better at taking snaps of moving subjects, especially at 3X zoom.&nbsp;
With regards to portraits, it was a strong emphasis in the S22 line up and continues to be this year as well. Samsung's AI has impressively improved its ability to detect edges and accurately distinguish individual hair strands from the surrounding background.
But how does it stack up against the Pixel 7 Pro, which is highly regarded for its portrait capabilities? Well, in this comparison, the S23 Ultra delivers more crisp and vibrant detail with spot on edge detection whereas the Pixel 7 Pro does the best job with my face and skin tone.&nbsp;
 Night time &nbsp;portraits get a boost as well on the Utra as it effectively &nbsp;distinguishes between foreground and background subjects in low light.
The video recording capabilities have been slightly upgraded in the S23 series too. You now get &nbsp;support for 30 frames per second at 8K resolution, which is a bump up from the 24fps on the S22 Ultra. Samsung has also improved its low-light video capabilities thanks to its new noise reduction technology and by doubling the optical image stabilization (OIS) angles in all directions.&nbsp;
BATTERY LIFE
While the Galaxy S23 Ultra makes a wide range of enhancements in its camera and performance, the battery capacity remains the same as the previous model at 5,000 mah. However, the S23 Ultra's more efficient chipset and power optimizations provide an extended battery life compared to the S22 Ultra. On most days the phone got me comfortably to bedtime with around 30 per cent juice left in the tank.&nbsp;
The only let down in this department is that the charging capability remains unchanged. The S23 Ultra still supports 45W wired charging , and just like previous models, it doesn't not come with a charging adapter in the box. If you do buy one separately, then it will take more than an hour to fully charge the phone, which isn't too bad but most of the competition can accomplish this in less than 30 minutes or even quicker.
S PEN
It also appears that the S Pen has not undergone any changes. In fact, during the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, Samsung did not mention any modifications to the S Pen experience, suggesting that the internal hardware powering it stays the same. That being said though, I don't think that's such a bad thing because the S Pen has undergone multiple advancements in recent years and remains a formidable tool for efficient multitasking.&nbsp;
VERDICT
Even if it didn't come with the S Pen, this phone is still a great choice for anyone seeking advanced &nbsp;features.&nbsp;
There's no head turning design sequel here, &nbsp;no revolutionary wheels being broken either. Just smart upgrades in all the right places, particularly in camera and performance.&nbsp;
Whether the higher price tag is justified is a personal decision, but if you are looking for the top of the line in smartphone technology, then there's a good chance you have already ordered the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

DESIGN &amp; UTILITY
The iQoo 11 continues the brand's signature white finish and BMW's iconic racing stripes. However, the use of silicon leather for the back panel is a welcome addition. Not only does it look visually appealing but the leather-finish also improves the grip of the phone. Meanwhile, these stripes, which are now made of fiberglass, add a little more durability to the design.
The back panel also has an oversized camera island with metal housing and large rings around the camera lenses, which looks quite nice.. I was pleasantly surprised to find that despite its size, the island doesn't protrude too much. This means that when I use the phone on a flat surface, it doesn't feel wobbly or unstable.

The back side features a curved design at the edges, which gives the impression of a slimmer profile . Around the front is a brilliant 6.78-inch display, which seems to have slightly thick bezels around it, and the panel itself is flat, which may appeal to gamers because it doesn't have any curved edges that can sometimes cause accidental touches. The screen also gets Gorilla Glass Victus protection, making it fairly scratch resistant.
The rest of the phone is held together by an aluminum frame and has an IR blaster and microphone on the top, as well as a SIM card tray and USB Type-C port on the bottom. The power button and volume rocker, which provide a nice tactile feel, are located on the right side of the phone.&nbsp;
One thing to note is that the iQOO 11 only gets an IP52 dust and water resistance rating. Moreover, the phone has no wireless charging or expandable storage, and the maximum onboard storage available is 256GB, so you may have to get used to the idea of cloud storage for backing up very large files.&nbsp;

On top of all of that, the screen also boasts a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, ensuring smooth and fluid animations. There's dynamic refresh here as well, thanks to LTPO tech, and this allows the device to adapt to the content being displayed on the screen. The speakers on the iQOO 11 are also noteworthy, delivering powerful bass and clear sound.
Additionally, the iQOO 11 also has an x-axis vibration engine that provides good haptic feedback and while the in-screen fingerprint sensor is not as large as the one on the iQOO 9 Pro, it is fast and reliable.
PERFORMANCE &amp; BATTERY
The iQOO 11 is the first smartphone in India to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It boasts significant improvements over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, including a 35% increase in CPU performance, and &nbsp;a 25% bump in GPU performance.
The chipset also now gets support for faster technologies like LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0. Aside from the latest Snapdragon processor, the phone also gets a new V2 chip, developed by the parent company, vivo, which enhances the quality of night-time photos and videos, as well as providing a boost to gaming performance.
There's a lot of amazing tech packed in here that helps in transforming the iQOO 11 into an extremely powerful smartphone. It consistently ranks at the top of benchmark charts and is definitely one of the most impressive devices I have tested. From lightning-fast app switching to seamless web browsing and photo editing, it truly shines in every task I've thrown its way.
Of course, it's also a great choice for gaming, with its top of the line hardware able to handle even the most demanding games without breaking a sweat.
In the battery department, the iQOO 11 definitely stands out, thanks to its large 5000mAh battery. With moderate daily use, you can expect to have about 50% battery life remaining at the end of the day. And when it does need a quick top up, the included 120W charger will have it fully charged in just 28 minutes. With a 15-minute charge, you can get an impressive 78 percent charge.
SOFTWARE
iQOO 11 ships with the latest Android 13 operating system, and is covered by Vivo's FunTouch skin. lt includes handy features like a customizable home screen with granular controls of UI color schemes and the ability to pin apps to prevent others from accessing them. Overall, FunTouch OS 13 is functional but not as highly regarded as other skins.
Another issue with Funtouch is its abundance of pre-installed apps, some of which cannot be removed or disabled. This results in a cluttered interface and a less streamlined user experience.&nbsp;
On the plus side, iQOO's software always nails the gaming features. For example, Game Space provides a convenient way to access your installed games and track your gaming statistics such as total playtime and most played games.
You can also access the ultra game mode a special in-game menu by swiping from the left side of the screen. This lets you switch between different power modes to give you the best gaming performance. There are also options like reject Background calls and Block notifications that help you stay undisturbed while gaming.
As for software updates, The iQOO 11 is set to receive three major OS updates and three years of security patches. While that isn't bad by any means , it is worth noting that Samsung offers up to four years of OS updates and five years of security patches.&nbsp;
CAMERAS
This phone has a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP Samsung GN5 main sensor, but this time around it lacks the super steady gimbal found in the iQOO 9 Pro, and instead has a more standard optical image stabilization system. The primary camera is joined by a 13MP 2X telephoto zoom lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 16MP front facing camera.
Photos taken with the 50MP camera in daylight have good dynamic range and color saturation, and generally offer a lot of sharpness and detail. The telephoto camera is also able to produce clear, high-quality photos with good noise control when using the 2X zoom. However, it would have been better to have a Periscope zoom lens that offers at least 5x optical zoom, as well as more consistent color matching between the main and 2X lenses.
The portrait mode offers reliable edge detection and the extended focal length allows it to produce attractive and natural background blur.
Ultra wide photos have decent sharpness and dynamic range, but again the colors differ from those of the main camera and the overall quality is just average. On the other hand, low light performance with the main camera is excellent, most likely thanks to that V2 chip working its magic behind the scenes.&nbsp;
Selfies taken with the 16 megapixel front-facing camera come out with good detail and sharpness, but the portrait mode can struggle with edge detection at times.&nbsp;
In the video department, IQOO 11's rear camera lets you record at up to 8K at 30 fps, 4K at 60 fps, and 1080p at 60 fps. Footage comes out looking really crisp, particularly at 4K 60 fps, and digital stabilization helps ensure smooth pans. Night time shooting isn't nearly as good as what iQOO advertises but the main still retains good detail and color saturation.
VERDICT
The iQOO 11 is a fantastic all-around smartphone that excels in performance thanks to its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Additionally, the pricing of the base variant at 59,999 Rupees appears to be quite competitive. It will be interesting to see how it compares to its rivals in 2023, but overall it is a very solid offering from iQOO.

We all think that minimising screen time is good for our health and productivity. However, a recent study has suggested that we should rather use our smartphones mindfully with the help of applications that keep a check on our screen time, resulting in better productivity.
The study was published in the journal AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction (THCI). Researchers did a survey on 469 undergraduate University students for three weeks.
During the research, participants were supposed to complete four questionnaires and half of them were asked to download an application to calculate their screen time.
It was then noticed that the participants who tracked the use of their phones with the help of the app, showed better productivity in solving the given questionnaires.

iQOO's new Z6 Lite promises the benefits of 5G connectivity without paying a hefty premium. With a starting price of ₹13,999,&nbsp;iQOO Z6 Lite offers a good set of features, but just how well does it perform in the real world?

iQOO Z6 LITE 5G DESIGN &amp; UTILITY&nbsp;
The IQOO Z6 Lite looks similar to the standard Z6. It gets the same flat frame and rounded corners that offer a comfortable grip. The phone still measures at 8.25mm in thickness but it's now slightly heavier at 194 grams. I didn't mind the extra heft though, and despite the all plastic build, this feels like a well-put-together handset.&nbsp;
I've got the stellar green colour, which has a nice glittery finish to it, as well as an appealing matte feel. The front, however, feels a bit dated with its large bottom chin and water drop notch design.&nbsp;
In terms of utility, the Z6 Lite gets a 3.5mm audio jack, a single firing speaker, and a Hybrid SIM-card tray with up to 1 TB micro-SD card expansion slot. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner here, which unlocks the phone very quickly, and rarely gives me any failed inputs.

iQOO Z6 LITE 5G DISPLAY
The IQOO Z6 Lite 5G features a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD display with 120Hz high refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
This means you get a very fluid experience while scrolling and playing compatible games. Display quality is pretty decent for LCD as there's a pleasant balance of colour and sharpness. Brightness levels are adequate under direct sunlight too.
As far as audio is concerned, the single loudspeaker gets loud enough, but my palm always blocked it while I was watching content or gaming.&nbsp;
iQOO Z6 LITE 5G&nbsp;PERFORMANCE &amp; SOFTWARE
The biggest selling point for the Z6 Lite is its new Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 &nbsp;processor which gets a &nbsp;6nm design. COD mobile run without any issues on medium graphic settings and the phone comes equipped with a cooling system for sustained performance.
Now, &nbsp;I've been testing the higher end variant with 6GB of RAM &nbsp;and 128 GB of storage but there's also a 4GB RAM/64GB storage model available as well.&nbsp;
 Software wise, the phone runs on Android 12 with Vivo's custom FunTouch OS 12 layered on top. &nbsp;
iQOO Z6 LITE 5G CAMERAS&nbsp;
On the back, the iQOO Z6 Lite has a dual-camera setup with a 50 primary camera and a 2MP macro camera. As you can imagine, the heavy lifting is done by that main sensor. The 8-megapixel front camera shoots above average selfies and portraits as long as there's good lighting. However, &nbsp;facial features do look a bit soft in mixed lighting conditions.
iQOO Z6 LITE 5G BATTERY&nbsp;
Battery life is very solid on the iQOO Z6 Lite. The large &nbsp;5,000mAh unit &nbsp;easily delivers a day and a half of use per charge and gave me on average around 7 hours of screen on time. India, home to the world's second-largest mobile market may ban Chinese smartphone makers from selling cheap mobiles in India. Bloomberg reports quoting unnamed sources that India is considering  restricting Chinese smartphone makers such as  Xiaomi from selling devices cheaper than Rs 12,000. As per data available phones under Rs 12,000 account for over 30% of sales in India, with Chinese companies accounting for up to 80% of the mobiles bought. The latest round of restrictions are a follow up on a series on changes made by the Indian govt after the India-China clash in 2020. After banning over 300 Chinese apps including popular TikTok, New Delhi also subjected Chinese firms operating in the country, such as Xiaomi and rivals Oppo and Vivo, to close scrutiny of their finances, which has led to tax demands and money laundering allegations. Chinese firms have also been excluded from the 5G trials as the new policy ensures telcos use only 'trusted sources'.
