The fifth season of &lsquo;The Crown&rsquo; is all set to stream on Netflix from November 9. However, the upcoming season of the royal drama is facing criticism from former UK prime minster Sir John Major. A recent report from The Daily Mail claims that the series shows King Charles swaying Prime Minister John Major in an attempt to force his mother Queen Elizabeth II&rsquo;s abdication when he was Prince of Wales.
On Sunday, Sir John Major told The Mail that his meeting with King Charles never happened and called the scene a &lsquo;barrel load of malicious nonsense&rsquo;.
A source told the publication that &lsquo;all the dialogue is completely made up, and all the one-to-one conversations on screen are utter fiction and some scenes have been entirely created for dramatic and commercial purposes with little regard for the truth. People should be boycotting it.&rsquo;
