The NIA on Monday carried out raids at over 50 locations in three north Indian states in connection with a case related to narco-terrorism by alleged gangsters, some of whom were also involved in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, officials said.

The NIA is probing a case of the alleged involvement of gangs in Punjab in smuggling drugs from Pakistan and the money later being pumped into terror-related activities.

The NIA on Monday carried out raids at over 50 locations in three north Indian states in connection with a case related to narco-terrorism by alleged gangsters, some of whom were also involved in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, officials said.
Raids were being carried out in Punjab, <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/uttar-pradesh-video-of-school-children-forced-to-clean-toilet-goes-viral-1662624583898">Uttar Pradesh</a> and Haryana and the sites included the residences of Goldy Brar and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria who are also accused in the killing of <a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/jaandi-vaar-sidhu-moose-wala-s-last-song-put-on-hold-after-singer-s-parents-file-complaint-1661849085227">sidhu Moosewala</a>, they said.

The National Investigation Agency (<a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/nia-announces-cash-reward-on-underworld-don-dawood-ibrahim-and-aides-1662021507929">NIA</a>) is probing a case of the alleged involvement of gangs in Punjab in smuggling drugs from Pakistan and the money later being pumped into terror-related activities.
The raids were carried out at Yamuna Nagar, Majitha road, Muktsar, Gurdaspur and Gurugram, they said.
The case of Moosewala's murder is being probed by the Punjab Police which has arrested 23 people in connection with it.
Moosewala was killed in Mansa on May 29 when he along with his friend and cousin was travelling in a jeep to Jawahar Ke village. A day earlier, the Punjab police had pruned his security cover on a temporary basis. Goldy Brar, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had claimed the responsibility for the murder.&nbsp;

Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May.

The 56-year-old actor reportedly submitted a written application to Mumbai police to seek a weapon license for his protection.
Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening that the father-son duo would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was killed in May. After the letter, Khan's security was enhanced after an FIR was filed at Bandra police station against an unknown person in the case. Further probe into the incident is underway.&nbsp;

Around the same time, it was reported that Salman was on the radar of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who recently confessed to the police that he had sent death threats to the actor through an aide in connection with the blackbuck posching case. Bishnoi also told the polcie during interrogation that he and his community, which regards blackbuck sacred, would 'never forgive' Salman Khan.

Last week, Salman's lawyer Hasti Mal Saraswat, who is representing him &nbsp;in the blackbuck poaching case in Jodhpur, had claimed that he had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a letter addressed to him.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in the custody of Punjab Police in connection with two murder cases, said his community will never forgive Bollywood actor Salman Khan for killing a blackbuck, regarded sacred by the Bishnoi community, unless he apologises in public, the Delhi Police Special cell said on Sunday.
Bishnoi made these revelations while he was being interrogated in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Last week, Salman's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat, who is representing him &nbsp;in the blackbuck poaching case in Jodhpur, had claimed that he had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a letter addressed to him.
It said the lawyer will meet Sidhu Moosewala&rsquo;s fate, adding that an &ldquo;enemy&rsquo;s friend is their first enemy&rdquo;.
The authencity of the threat letter is yet to be ascertained by the police.
HGS Dhaliwal, special commissioner (special cell), said that during interrogation, Lawrence candidly admitted that Salman Khan's acquittal or punishment from the court will not be the last verdict for him given that Bishnois consider the blackbuck the reincarnation of their spiritual leader, Bhagwan Jambeshwar, also known as Jambaji. &nbsp;&ldquo;The actor and his father either tender public apology in Jambaji temple or the Bishnois will kill them.&rdquo;
In June, a few days after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, Salman Khan received a threat letter which read that the actor and his father Salim Khan will suffer the same fate as Moose Wala.

Two men were arrested for allegedly making extortion calls to a Ludhiana-based businessman demanding Rs 10 lakh in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused also threatened that he would meet the same fate as singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead recently, if he did not oblige to the demand.
Accused Shakti Singh, 29, and Afzal Khan, 24, are residents of Bilaspur in Chattisgarh. Another person named Raja, a resident of Gopalganj in Bihar, is yet to be arrested, they said.
The businessman in his complaint alleged that he had been receiving threat calls from unknown international and Indian numbers since June 4, police said.
The callers identified themselves to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang and demanded Rs 10 lakh. They threatened to kill him, just like Moosewala, if he failed to pay the money, a senior police officer said.
The accused had allegedly also sent details of a bank account the businessman to transfer the money.
The Punjab Police had informed us that the location of the one of the phone numbers used in making the extortion calls was traced to Delhi and that the caller was changing his location frequently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations) KPS Malhotra said.
During investigation, the caller was traced to Gurugram Sector-22 and nabbed along with another person and the phone was recovered. This phone was registered in Khan's name, the DCP said.
Singh revealed to the police that in January, he met the third accused Raja, who told him to arrange bank accounts and ATM cards, police said.
At Raja's behest, Singh arranged around 25 bank accounts and received Rs 25,000 for each of them, police said.
Moosewala, the singer-politician who had joined the Congress months before the 2022 state assembly polls, was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29.
Last week, the Delhi Police had said that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the murder. The Punjab Police took Bishnoi to the state from the national capital in the early hours of Wednesday to question him in the connection with the case.
