Actor Shruti Haasan recently skipped the pre-release event of her film &lsquo;Waltair Veerayya&rsquo;, co-starring Chiranjeevi, and her absence led to many speculations about her mental health. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Shruti quashed the rumours and pulled up those who spread &lsquo;misinformation&rsquo; about her health.
She posted a screenshot of articles that mentioned that she is &lsquo;dealing with mental health issues&rsquo; and wrote, &lsquo;ok so my flu turned into this?&rsquo;
Shruti also talked about misinformation being spread around mental health thus making it difficult for people who suffer from it to talk about it.
&lsquo;Ok. So here&rsquo;s the thing. Misinformation like this and the over-dramatisation or flippant handling of such subjects is what makes people afraid to talk about mental health. Guess what? It doesn&rsquo;t work. I will always be a mental health advocate. I will always promote taking care of myself in all aspects. Oh, and I had a VIRAL FEVER. So nice try. Get over yourselves and while you&rsquo;re at it please talk to a therapist. No really. Please do,&rsquo; she wrote.
Director Bobby Waltair Veerayya is touted to be a mass entertainer. It also stars Ravi Teja. The film released in cinemas on January 13.

Actor Shruti Haasan has always been vocal about the medical procedures that she has undergone to look desirable. In an interview with Hauterrfly, Shruti Hassan confirmed that she got her nose fixed, adding that it was broken.&nbsp;
Talking about how people have been targeting her for undergoing the nose surgery, she said, 'I did get my nose fixed and it was very obvious I got my nose fixed. My nose was broken and quite different from before and I did my first film with my old nose. And people are like she&rsquo;s just using the deviated septum excuse. No, I did have a deviated septum, it hurt. But if I could make it prettier, it&rsquo;s my face, why wouldn&rsquo;t I? It was that simple. I don&rsquo;t feel the need to justify why I want to look a certain way for myself. They said, &lsquo;Did you get fillers?&rsquo; Yeah. I did. &lsquo;And tomorrow, would you get a face lift?&rsquo; Maybe, maybe not. who knows?'
Shruti also revealed that she is often told that she is very talented, but not Indian enough.&nbsp;
In a 2020 interview with Hindustan Times, Shruti had said that getting her nose fixed was a personal choice. &lsquo;Nobody asked me to fix it. When it came to fillers.. they say, &lsquo;Shruti&rsquo;s face is very Western it&rsquo;s very sharp, it&rsquo;s very masculine.&rsquo; I was constantly hearing this and I did do non-invasive, temporary procedures, which I have been very open about.'
On the work front, the actor was last seen in the 2021 Telugu film 'Vakeel Saab', she will next feature in Prabhas-Prithviraj-starrer 'Salaar'.
