Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, while speaking to news agency ANI, said, "Omicron is a matter of concern. Himachal Pradesh has done good work as far as Covid-19 vaccination is concerned. In a way we can say that it is a fully vaccinated state. I hope that the variant will not have much of an impact on the state."
He added that a lot of tourists come to Himachal Pradesh on the occasions of Christmas and New Year. "We have asked the administration to regulate the crowd and do not let it get overcrowded. We have also urged tourists to come after getting vaccinated and follow Covid-19 norms."

The incident took place at Ghoda Chowki near Hali Palace in Shimla on Thursday evening, State Disaster Management Director said.
According to senior officials, no loss of life has been reported as the building was vacated in time.

The cloudburst occurred on Monday morning at the popular tourist attraction Bhagsu&nbsp;Nag in Dharamshala.
A popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala is currently packed with tourists from the plains of North India.
Videos of mud flooding into the streets of Dharmshala have surfaced online.
Report says that around 3000mm of rainfall has been recorded in and around Dharamshala.
Many vehicle were washed away and several shops were damaged as flash floods gushed into the main town. However, no loss of life has been reported.
