Actor Shenaz Treasury recently revealed on social media that she is suffering from Prosopagnosia. The actor explained in her post that the condition is a neurological disorder that prevents her from recognising faces.

What is Prosopagnosia?&nbsp;
According to doctors, Prosopagnosia or face blindness is a condition in which people are unable to recognise family members, partners or friends by their faces. &nbsp;
Normally, an individual can recognise and remember 5000 plus faces throughout their lifetime. However, people who suffer from this condition have difficulty recognising people's faces out of context. Patients use techniques such as voices and face shapes to identify people easily.&nbsp;
Causes of Prosopagnosia
Prosopagnosia can be acquired or hereditary. Acquired cases can result from ischemic stroke, traumatic brain injury and certain kinds of neuropsychiatric illnesses like Alzheimer's disease, depression and schizophrenia.&nbsp;
Treatment for Prosopagnosia
As of now, there is no specific treatment for the disorder but alternative techniques are taught to patients to identify people. If left undiagnosed, Prosopagnosia can lead to anxiety, depression, functional impairment and extreme social isolation.&nbsp;

The actress turned travel vlogger Shenaz Treasury took to social media and revealed that she has been diagnosed with prosopagnosia. For the unversed, prosopagnosia is a disorder wherein a person cannot remember people's faces.
Yesterday (June 28), Shenaz Treasury revealed about her condition on her Instagram stories. She said that she had issues remembering peoples' faces but remembered them by their voices. Shenaz, who made her debut in Bollywood with the Shahid Kapoor- Amrita Rao starrer ‘Ishq Vishk’, has been doing a lot of travel vlogging lately. 
 
Besides ‘Ishq Vishk’, Shenaz was also seen in other films like ‘Aagey Se Right’, ‘Luv Ka The End’, ‘Delhi Belly’ and others.

Actor-travel vlogger Shenaz Treasury revealed that she has been diagnosed with prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness, on Instagram. It is a disorder due to which a person is unable to recognize people's faces.
In her Instagram stories, Shenaz mentioned that she always felt ashamed that she mixed up people and couldn't recognise faces of people, even close friends. She added that 'this is a real disorder' and not her being 'aloof and snobbish.' Shenaz has urged everyone to be kind and understanding.
