Despite heightened security in Jammu and Kashmir owing to the recent target killings, suspected militants struck again in the capital city Srinagar, killing a policeman.&nbsp;
Reports said 29-year-old policeman Tauseef Ahmad was fired upon by the unidentified gunmen in SD Colony area of Batamaloo&nbsp;in Srinagar&nbsp;from a close range.&nbsp;Ahmad&nbsp;was immediately rushed to nearby&nbsp;SMHS hospital where doctors declared him dead. He had served with anti-insurgency Special Operation Group of the Jammu&nbsp;and Kashmir Police.&nbsp;
Soon after the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and conduted searches but the militants managed to flee.&nbsp;Since past two months Kashmir has seen an escalation in violence with unarmed civilians being targeted by the terror groups.

West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's father and brother, who are both members of Parliament, have been given 'Y+' central security cover by the Union home ministry.
PTI reported that Suvendu Adhikari's father Sisir Kumar Adhikari and brother Dibyendu Adhikari have been provided the cover by the ministry on the basis of a threat perception report prepared by central security agencies.
While Sisir Kumar Adhikari is MP from the Kanthi Lok Sabha seat, Dibyendu Adhikari is a Trinamool Congress MP from Tamluk in the state.
The CRPF also provides a 'Z' category cover to Suvendu Adhikari, who is the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly.

All the newly elected 77 BJP MLAs in West Bengal are being provided a cover of central security forces in view of potential threats to them, PTI has reported quoting govt sources.The report said that the MLAs will be secured by armed commandos of the CISF and the CRPF.
The Home Ministry has reportedly approved the cover after a report prepared by central security agencies and the inputs of a high-level team of officers that was sent to the state in the wake of post-poll violence against the workers of the BJP.
Sixty-one MLAs will be covered under the lowest ''X'' category and the commandos will be drawn from the CISF. The rest are either enjoying the central security cover or will be covered under the next higher category of ''Y''. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari is already a ''Z'' category protectee of the CRPF.
