Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary told Parliament that market regulator SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) and the government's Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) are investigating several Adani Group fims.
In a written reply to a question, the minister said accounts of three of the six Mauritius-based funds, that have invested most of their money in Adani Group firms, were frozen in 2016 over the issuance of Global Depository Receipt (GDR) by certain listed firms.&nbsp;
"Sebi is investigating some Adani Group companies with regard to compliance with Sebi regulations," he said without giving details.
He however said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) wasn't investigating the Adani Group. Meanwhile,&nbsp;Adani Group clarified about the matter and said&nbsp;said it has not received any communication or information requests recently from the SEBI&nbsp;recently and the DRI,&nbsp;show-cause notice was issued five years back.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed a Maharashtra state law providing reservation for the Maratha community in government jobs and education. The top court order essentially means there will not be a quota for the Maratha community in state government jobs and educational institutions until the matter is decided by the larger bench. The Socially and Educationally Backward Classes or the SEBC Act provides for 12-13% quota to the Maratha community in jobs and education. One of the pleas filed in the apex court had claimed that the law breached the 50 per cent ceiling on reservation fixed by the top court in its landmark judgment in the Indira Sahwney case. A 11-judge bench will now take over the case.

Mumbai, PTI: The Supreme Court Wednesday stayed the implementation of 2018 Maharashtra law granting reservation to Marathas in education and jobs but made it clear that the status of those who have availed of the benefits will not be disturbed.
A three-judge bench headed by Justice L N Rao referred to a larger constitution bench, to be set up by Chief Justice of India S A Bobde, the batch of pleas challenging the validity of the law granting reservation to Marathas in education and jobs.
The Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) Act, 2018 was enacted to grant reservation to people of Maratha community in Maharashtra in jobs and admissions.
The Bombay High Court, while upholding the law in June last year, had held that 16 per cent reservation was not justifiable and said that quota should not exceed 12 per cent in employment and 13 per cent in admissions.
The apex court passed the order on a batch of pleas challenging the high court order and the 2018 law.
One of the plea filed in the apex court had claimed that the SEBC Act breached the 50 per cent ceiling on reservation fixed by the top court in its landmark judgment in the Indira Sahwney case, also known as the 'Mandal verdict'.
