The Karnataka government said it will issue a legal notice to the search engine.
Karnataka Minister for Kannada, Culture and Forest, Aravind Limbavali took to Twitter to express his outrage and demanded an apology from Google. He added that the Kannada language has been the pride of Kannadigas through the ages.
Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy too denounced Google in a series of tweets and sought to know why Google "behaves in an irresponsible manner" in terms of the language.
With people expressing their indignation over the gaffe and leaders slamming Google, the tech giant quickly fixed it and apologised to the people saying the search result did not reflect its opinion.
