The new rate of 7.55 percent per year is effective from December 15, 2021.

WazirX, the country's largest crypto&nbsp;exchange platform, took a hit as it received numerous user complaints as they were not able to deposit funds.
Leading Indian banks had earlier, HDFC, Axis, YES, ICICI and Kotak Mahindra, stopped their services to cryptocurrency exchanges following a circular by&nbsp;the RBI. However,&nbsp;later, when the matter went to the Supreme Court,&nbsp;the apex court stated that the matter of blocking cryptocurrencies does not fall under the purview of the central bank,&nbsp;thus, reversing the order.

The rate of interest applicable for a non-salaried borrower was 15 bps higher than the interest rate applicable to a salaried borrower in the past. The new rate of 6.7% is applicable to both as&nbsp;SBI has said that it has removed this distinction.&nbsp;

In a second incident of a huge wrong amount being sent to a bank customer in Bihar, two school boys from Pastiya village in Katihar district found their accounts laden with crores of rupees overnight.
The school boys who have accounts in Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank were expecting to get some money under a government scheme to buy school uniform and pay for related expenses. They received the shock of their lives when they visited the local Centralised Precessing Centre (CPC) of State Bank of India (SBI) to know about the status of the funds and found out that a huge sum of money was transferred to them.
Class 6 student Ashish found himself rich by over ₹ 6.2 crore while another schoolboy, Guru Charan Vishwas, was surprised to see over ₹ 900 crore in his account.
The village head has confirmed the matter. Katihar District Magistrate Udayan Mishra said the branch manager has informed them about some glitch in the computerised system of sending money. The amount was visible in their statements but the actual money wasn't in their account. The bank is investigating the transactions.
A similar incident was earlier reported in Khagaria where a tutor received ₹5.5 lakh in his account due to bank error. A man in a village on Patna's outskirts was sent to jail for not returning over ₹ 5 lakh that was credited into his account by mistake. The man had refused to return the money to the bank, claiming the amount was government relief sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Admitting that family pension for bank employees is at a paltry level, the government on Wednesday raised the same to 30 percent of the last drawn salary. With this, the family pensions would rise three times.
Currently, kin of deceased public-bank employees get a maximum of Rs 9,284 per month which would rise to as high as Rs 35,000 per month,&nbsp;said Department of Financial Services Secretary Debasish Panda.
"The cap has been completely removed and a uniform slab of 30 percent at the last-drawn salary will be entitled as family pension," Panda told reporters.
The ministry has also decided to increase the employer's contribution in the&nbsp;New Pension Scheme (NPS) to 14 percent of the salary from the current 10 percent.

Currently, the family of deceased public-bank employees get a maximum of Rs 9,284 per month.

The use of&nbsp;blockchain&nbsp;technology by banks could be a&nbsp;boon for medium and small-scale enterprises (MSMEs) as tokenisation would make approvals, disbursements and settlements quick.&nbsp;Disbursements on domestic LCs, which used to take four to five days, can be done in four hours, as some reports suggest.
The industry has been exploring more complex use-cases such as collateralised loan disbursal, deeper credit rating, and even transaction traceability.
