Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar, Ramesh Pokhriyal &lsquo;Nishank&rsquo; and Debasree Chaudhuri tendered their resignations ahead of the first mega cabinet reshuffle in Prime Minister Narendra Modi&lsquo;s second term.
Nishank was Education Minister and Santosh Gangwar held the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment. Both have reportedly given health reasons in their resignation letters.
Union Minister Debasree Chaudhuri was also relieved just ahead of the Cabinet expansion. She served as the Minister of State for Women and Child Development. Debasree Chaudhuri won elections in 2019 from Raiganj constituency in West Bengal.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has resigned ahead of the Modi cabinet expansion.&nbsp;Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar, Ramesh Pokhriyal &lsquo;Nishank&rsquo; also&nbsp;tendered their resignations.

Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre also resigned from the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. Dhotre, who represents Akola constituency of Maharashtra also took charge as MoS for Education, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology, in May 2019.

Rajya Sabha passes three key labour reform bills

The Rajya&nbsp;Sabha on Wednesday approved three key labour reform bills that will remove impediments for winding up of companies and allow firing of staff without government permission in firms with up to 300 workers.
The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Industrial Relations Code 2020 and the Code on Social Security, 2020 were passed in the Lok&nbsp;Sabha&nbsp;on Tuesday.
Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar said&nbsp;that the increase in the threshold from 100 to 300 would result in job creation.
He said these bills would safeguard the interest of workers and provide universal social security to them by expanding the ambit of EPFO.
