Farmers body Samyukt Kisan Morcha, which is not part of the current protests and negotiations with the Centre, has rejected the government's proposal of a five-year procurement plan and crop diversification suggestion.
Speaking to the Indian Express newspaper, organisation member Darshan Pal described the proposal as Punjab-oriented, pointing out that it only guarantees compulsory procurement of five crops.
He insisted that MSP should be declared for all 23 crops based on the Swaminathan Commission formula, and not the existing method.
&ldquo;Though we are not part of the talks with the ministers, the proposal is applicable for the whole farming community&hellip; I strongly feel that the proposal is meant to divert and dilute the focal demands of farmers. They have given a proposal to purchase five crops at MSP&mdash;maize, cotton, arhar/tur, massur and urad dal. However, this proposal seems to be Punjab-oriented. What about the rest of the farmers?
&ldquo;The SKM feels that MSP should be determined by following the C2+ 50 per cent formula of Dr MS Swaminathan and be applicable for all the crops&hellip; At least they should provide it for all the 23 crops for which they have declared MSP. Apart from this, dairy and other agriculture industries should also be brought under the MSP regime. Himachal Pradesh declared an MSP on milk a few days ago.&rdquo;
&ldquo;This proposal, in the view of the SKM, is meant to divert and dilute the demand for MSP @ C2+50 per cent for all crops with guaranteed procurement, which was promised in the BJP&rsquo;s 2014 general election manifesto and originally recommended by the MS Swaminathan commission,&rdquo; Pal added.
&ldquo;If the Modi government is unable to implement the promise made by BJP, the prime minister should be be honest to tell that to the people,&rdquo; said Prem Singh Bhangu, president of the All India Kisan Federation.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and SKM (non-political) are yet to respond to the proposal.&nbsp;

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has said it will intensify agitation in the coming days as farmers' groups, along with trade unions and others, observed 'Bharat Bandh' on Friday.
The (Samyukt Kisan Morcha) SKM said its Punjab unit will hold a meeting on February 18 at Jalandhar, and it will be followed by the meetings of the NCC and and general body at New Delhi to take stock of developments and suggest the future course of action.
In a statement issued on the day of the bandh, the SKM also accused the Union government of "vitiating the atmosphere on farmers' issues" by not keeping its promises made when the 2020-21 sit-in protest at Delhi borders ended.
"The SKM has decided to immediately intensify agitation and it shall be done with multiple calls for massive actions in coordination with workers and all other sections of the people," the SKM said in a statement.
"The Narendra Modi government has deliberately vitiated the atmosphere on farmers' issues and hoodwinked people into believing that he is truthful and sincere," it said.
The SKM mentioned "promises" made by the government, which included a committee to consider granting a legal status to MSP and other demands in December 2021.
Seven months later, they formed one with those who were openly opposed to giving MSP, and crop diversification and zero budget natural farming were added on its agenda, the SKM alleged.
"Now, in the name of talks, they are mocking negotiations by sending ministers to the agitators at Shambhu to fool the people and keeping the points and progress in the discussion 'secret', thus putting farmers of the entire country in the dark," it further alleged.
The SKM said the bandh on Friday reflected "anger of the people against the brutal repression" by the Modi government and the BJP-led state government of Haryana on farmers at Punjab's Shambhu border.
"The anger of farmers against the corporate and communal policies of the Narendra Modi government has boiled over today with their huge participation in the Grameen Bharat Bandh," it said.
The SKM also claimed it was one of the largest-ever mass actions of the people in independent India, which helped bring back the issue of people's livelihood on the national agenda just ahead of the upcoming general elections.
"While in Punjab the protest has become almost a bandh, in all other states and Union Territories, shops, industries, markets, educational institutions and government offices remained closed in villages. Massive demonstrations and protest rallies were organised, in which lakhs of people participated with enthusiasm," it further claimed.

Ahead of the monsoon session of the Parliament, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha has planned to intensify their agitation against the three farm laws.

Monsoon Session: farmers to protest outside Parliament every day

The farmers, who are up against 3 contentious farm laws, have scheduled protests for each day of the Monsoon session of the Parliament. Here are the key details from the protest calendar.&nbsp;

The SKM&nbsp;also said that it was their request to the Opposition leaders to either break their silence in the house or leave their seat. Once the session begins, a large group of people will leave Singhu, reach the Parliament, and tell the Opposition to disrupt proceedings inside.

On July 17, the farmers plan to go to houses of leaders belonging to Opposition parties and give them a warning letter. The SKM&nbsp;said it will be our request to either break their silence in the house or leave their seat.
Five days later, a large group of people will leave Singhu, reach the Parliament, and tell the Opposition to disrupt proceedings inside.

Ahead of the monsoon session of the Parliament, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha&nbsp;has&nbsp;planned to intensify&nbsp;their agitation against the three farm laws.
