Praising the achievement of women in Tamil cinema, Deepan Qweeter Kannan, a twitter user wrote that while passing a theatre in a Chennai suburb he noticed that all the posters there were of films with female leads. He added that 10 years back it would have been unimaginable. The posters in the picture he shared with his post were of &lsquo;Connect&rsquo; starring Nayanthara and &lsquo;Raangi&rsquo; starring Trishna.
Samantha replied to the tweet with a heart emoji and wrote 'Women Rising!!'.&nbsp;
However, a user tried to troll her and wrote, &lsquo;Yes,just to fall.&rsquo; The actor replied saying &lsquo;Getting back up makes it all the more sweeter my friend.&rsquo;&nbsp;
In another tweet, Samantha was asked how her life has been lately to which she said that she was witnessing a different life. The actor also mentioned that the Hollywood blockbuster &lsquo;Black Panther: Wakanda Forever&rsquo;s song &lsquo;No Woman No Cry&rsquo; helped her to get through rough days.

Brown-facing actors is obviously linked to India's obsession with fairness. For an industry that's all about glam and opulence, economically backward equals 'brownface'.
Bollywood's Brownface syndrome = India's colonial hangover
A colonial hangover only took the idea forward over the years. All the brown-faced actors have played characters hailing from poorer backgrounds. It's common sense that skin colour has nothing to do with economic and social conditions like poverty and caste, and 'brownface' perpetuates this stereotype.
But such logic seems to elude Bollywood.
