Delhi’s air quality likely to worsen due to spike in farm fires: SAFAR

Delhi&rsquo;s air quality was recorded in the &lsquo;moderate&rsquo; category on Tuesday morning, but it is likely to worsen in the coming days due to a spike in farm fires in Punjab, Haryana and neighbouring border regions, according to a PTI report.
The Ministry of Earth Sciences&rsquo; air quality monitor, SAFAR, said the city&rsquo;s air quality index or AQI will remain in the &ldquo;moderate&rdquo; category on Wednesday and Thursday and will start deteriorating thereafter.
Delhi recorded an air quality index (AQI) of 177 at 10.30 am which falls in the &ldquo;moderate&rdquo; category, while on Monday, the 24-hour average AQI was 179.&nbsp;

Mumbai sees worst air quality since March

Mumbai recorded its worst air quality since March on Sunday, with an AQI of 100.

Pollution levels soared in some areas of Mumbai, giving rise to hazy conditions for the second day in a row on Sunday, the Hindustan Times reported.
The skyline was engulfed by a layer of smog as the Air Quality index for PM2.5 was recorded at 100 or satisfactory.
The System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research(SAFAR) said this was the worst air quality recorded since March, stating that moisture in the air has increased its capacity of carrying pollutants
The condition at Bandra Kurla Complex was the worst, with an AQI of 304 on Sunday, followed by Navi Mumbai which had a moderate AQI&nbsp;at 156.&nbsp;
