RSS chief: discussion on good things 40 times more than bad things in India

The RSS chief has attributed the rise in India's stature to good policies of the Modi government.&nbsp;

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said the discussion on good things happening in the country now is at least 40 times more than the talk on the bad things happening.
He was speaking after inaugurating Shrimati Dhankuvrben Babubhai Dhakan Hospital (Suvarna Hospital) in Kandivali suburb of north Mumbai in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
&ldquo;Many times negative discussions are heard. But when we go around the country and see, then we come to know that there is 40 times more discussion about the good things that are happening, than there is talk of the bad things happening in India,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
&ldquo;The reason for the utkarsh (rise) of the country today is due to government&rsquo;s policies and the work of responsible people in government. Things are also running smoothly because some people don&rsquo;t do anything. If they work, then there will be problems,&rdquo; he said.
Bhagwat said that the desire among people to see India gain glory is more powerful today than it was 40 years ago. &ldquo;This should increase. We are rising but we are yet not that powerful,&rdquo; he added.
There are people who don&rsquo;t want to see our rise, the RSS chief said.
&ldquo;It is not just roti, kapda aur makan but education and health have also become essential in today&rsquo;s society,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
&ldquo;What is the yardstick of deciding what is good or bad? There is something which is visible and there is the other thing which actually happens. One can make it look like it has been done even though it has not been done,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;In our case both things are important. To do (good) things and to show that good things have been done. But what is seen should be the result of what is done. Then only the resultant view (situation) is everlasting,&rdquo; Bhagwat said.
The RSS chief said while in college they had a chapter on &ldquo;modern pilgrimage centres&rdquo; like the Bhakra Nangal dam.
&ldquo;Places like this hospital where people are served are modern pilgrimage centres. You have done the work of creating a teerth sthal (pilgrimage place) here,&rdquo; he said.
Bhagwat recalled the visit of Adolf Hitler&rsquo;s foreign minister Von Ribbentrop to England before World War II broke out.
&ldquo;The British knew that he had come to see their (war) preparedness. They made cardboard aircraft, put civilians in military uniform and made the Germans think that they are strong.

Talking forward his outreach to the Muslim community, Mohan Bhagwat, the head of Hindutava fountainhead Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh met Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, the chief of All India Imam Organisation, at a mosque in national capital Delhi. 
The closed-door meeting, which lasted for more than an hour, was held at Kasturba Gandhi Marg mosque where the office of the All India Imam Organisation is located. 
Bhagwat was accompanied by senior Sangh functionaries -- joint general secretary Krishna Gopal, Ram Lal and Indresh Kumar. While Lal was earlier organisational secretary of the BJP, Indresh is patron of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch.
The RSS chief has been holding discussions with Muslim intellectuals for strengthening communal harmony.
He had recently met Delhi's former Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, former chief election commissioner S Y Quraishi, former chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Lieutenant General Zameer Uddin Shah, former MP Shahid Siddiqui and businessman Saeed Shervani.
During the meeting, Bhagwat had raised the issue of usage of the word "kafir" for Hindus which, he said, does not send out a good message. The Muslim intellectuals, on the other hand, objected to some right-wing activists calling the Muslims "jihadi" and "Pakistanis".

He also underlined the need for establishing a Sindhi university in the country to ensure survival of the Sindhi language and culture. The RSS chief said India is a multi-lingual country and each language has its own importance.
Bhagwat was speaking as the chief guest at the 'Gaddinashini' programme (ceremony to assume religious seat) of Sai Rajeshlal Mordiya, the great grandson of Sant Kanwarram, at Kanwarram Dham on Bhankheda Road near here in eastern Maharashtra.
Hundreds of Sindhi community memberrs from Amravati district and different parts of the country attended the ceremony.
The RSS chief asserted no one benefits from violence and called for bringing together all communities and preserving humanity.
"Violence does not benefit anybody. The society to which violence is dear is now counting its last days. We should forever be non-violent and peace-loving. For this, it is essential to bring together all communities and preserve humanity. We all need to do this work on a priority," said Bhagwat.
The RSS leader's remarks came in the backdrop of communal clashes during Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in nearly half a dozen states, including the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
Observing that the Sindhi community has contributed richly in development of the country, Bhagwat stressed the need of having a Sindhi university to promote and preserve the Sindhi culture and language.
"While some Sindhi brethren stayed back in Pakistan to protect their religion and land there, many came to India to protect their religion at the cost of land," the RSS leader said.
He said the Sindhi community has to put pressure on the central government to get its demand for a university fulfilled.
"The society is desirous of having a Sindhi university and an undivided India. These feelings were expressed on this dais also. I was appealed to make efforts for a Sindhi university, but I am not a part of the government.
"Be it this government or any other, it acts on pressure of the society. Social pressure is like petrol to the government. If you desire to see your dream of a Sindhi university becoming a reality, you need to put pressure on this government," Bhagwat said.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagatguru Shankaracharya Wasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj said, "Undivided India is the dream of all in the country and this dream will certainly be realized during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Ilker Ayci, the former Turkish Airlines chairman, whose departure even before arrival to the role of the chief executive of Tata’s Air India is been in news.

He was due to take over on or before April 1 this year. 
 
Ayci was an advisor of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when the latter was mayor of Istanbul, from 1994 to 1998. He also served the Turkish Airlines as its chairman from 2015 to 2022 and was credited with turning the airline around.
