Robbie Coltrane (March 30, 1950 &ndash; October 14, 2022)
Scottish star Robbie Coltrane died aged 72 following multiple organ failure. He was best known for portraying the role of Rubeus Hagrid in the &lsquo;Harry Potter&rsquo; films, and Valentin Zukovsky, a Russian crime boss, in the &lsquo;James Bond&rsquo; thrillers &lsquo;GoldenEye&rsquo; and &lsquo;The World Is Not Enough&rsquo;.
Aaron Carter (December 7, 1987 &ndash; November 5, 2022)
Singer-actor Aaron Carter, who briefly became a teenage sensation in the early 2000s, was found dead in the bathtub of his home in Southern California. He was 34. Carter, who was known for the hit song, &lsquo;I want Candy&rsquo;, began performing at age seven and released his self-titled debut album in 1997 at age nine, selling a million copies worldwide.
Kirstie Alley (January 12, 1951 &ndash; December 5, 2022)
Kirstie Alley, the star of &lsquo;Cheers&rsquo; and &lsquo;Drop Dead Gorgeous&rsquo;, died after a brief battle with colon cancer. She was 71. Alley won an Emmy award and a Golden Globe for her role as bar manager Rebecca Howe on the popular TV series &lsquo;Cheers&rsquo;. She also appeared in the &lsquo;Look Who's Talking&rsquo; film franchise and the TV sitcom &lsquo;Veronica's Closet&rsquo;.
Angela Lansbury (October 16, 1925- October 11, 2022)
Angela Lansbury, best known for playing Jessica Fletcher in the TV series &lsquo;Murder, She Wrote&rsquo;, died on October 11, aged 96. She bagged five Tony Awards for her stage performances between 1966 and 2009, and a special Tony for lifetime achievement in 2022. She also earned Academy Award nominations for two of her first three film roles, &lsquo;Gaslight&rsquo; (1945) and &lsquo;The Picture of Dorian Gray&rsquo; (1946).
Olivia Newton-John (September 26, 1948 - August 8, 2022)
Olivia Newton-John was one of the biggest pop stars of the '70s and she charmed generations of viewers in the blockbuster movie &lsquo;Grease&rsquo;. The Australian singer passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California on August 8. She was 73.
Sidney Poitier (February 20, 1927 &ndash; January 6, 2022)
Sidney Poitier, the Bahamian-American Hollywood star, known for films like &lsquo;In the Heat of the Night&rsquo;, &lsquo;Blackboard Jungle&rsquo; and &lsquo;Guess Who&rsquo;s Coming to Dinner&rsquo;, died on January 6 at the age of 94. He was the first Black winner of the best actor Oscar for his role in Lilies of the Field, and he inspired a generation during the civil rights movement.
Bob Saget (May 17, 1956 &ndash; January 9, 2022)
Bob Saget, comedian and actor, who was best known for playing Danny Tanner on the sitcom &lsquo;Full House,&rsquo; died on January 10. He was 65. Saget was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, according to a statement from the Orange County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office.

Actor Robbie Coltrane, who played the role of Hagrid in the &lsquo;Harry Potter&rsquo; movies, died at age 72. British actor Daniel Radcliffe and JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, shared heartfelt tributes remembering the late Coltrane. &nbsp;&nbsp;
 Radcliffe told Deadline, &lsquo;Robbie was one of the funniest people I've met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set&rsquo;. He added, &lsquo;I've especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on 'Prisoner of Azkaban,' when we were all hiding from the torrential rain for hours in Hagrid's hut and he was telling stories and cracking jokes to keep morale up. I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he's passed. He was an incredible actor and a lovely man.&rsquo; &nbsp;&nbsp;
 Harry Potter author JK Rowling took to Twitter and shared a beautiful picture with the late actor. The post read, &lsquo;I'll never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one-off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family, above all his children.&rsquo; Coltrane and Radcliffe shared screen space in all eight 'Harry Potter' movies, right from the 'Sorcerer's Stone' in 2001 to 'Death Hallows - Part 2' in 2011. &nbsp;&nbsp;
 Emma Watson, who featured as Hermione Granger in &lsquo;Harry Potter&rsquo; franchise, took to Instagram and wrote, &lsquo;Robbie was like the most fun uncle I&rsquo;ve ever had, but most of all, he was deeply caring and compassionate towards me as a child and an adult. His talent was so immense that it made sense he played a giant &mdash; he could fill ANY space with his brilliance. She further added that, &lsquo;Robbie, if I ever get to be so kind as you were to me on a film set I promise I&rsquo;ll do it in your name and memory. Know how much I adore and admire you. Robbie Coltrane, the baby-faced comedian and character actor whose hundreds of roles included a crime-solving psychologist on the TV series "Cracker" and the gentle half-giant Hagrid in the "Harry Potter" movies, has died. He was 72.
Coltrane's agent Belinda Wright said he died Friday at a hospital in his native Scotland, and did not immediately offer other details. She called him "forensically intelligent" and "brilliantly witty" in just one of many tributes made to him.
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, who decades ago had said Coltrane was her first choice to play Hagrid, tweeted Friday that he was "an incredible talent, a complete one off." "I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him," she wrote.
Born Anthony Robert McMillan in Rutherglen, Scotland, Coltrane was in his early 20s when he began pursuing an acting career and renamed himself in honour of jazz musician John Coltrane.
He already had a notable screen career, with credits including "Mona Lisa," "Nuns on the Run" and Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of "Henry V" when he broke through on his own as a hard-bitten detective in "Cracker," the 1990s TV series for which he won best actor at the British Academy Television Awards three years running.

He went on to appear in all eight "Harry Potter" movies as the young wizard's mentor and had a wide variety of other parts, including a Russian crime boss in the James Bond thrillers "GoldenEye" and "The World is Not Enough" and Pip's guardian Mr. Jaggers in a 2012 adaptation of Dickens' "Great Expectations." More recently, he received rave reviews for playing a beloved TV star who may harbour a dark secret in the 2016 miniseries "National Treasure." On Friday, his "Nuns on the Run" co-star Eric Idle tweeted that he had been talking about Coltrane, "wondering where he was," when he learned of his death.
"Such a bright and brilliant man. A consummate actor, an extraordinarily funny comedian and an amazing actor. He was also a very good friend," Idle wrote.
Wright said Coltrane is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his ex-wife Rhona Gemmell and his children Spencer and Alice.&nbsp;
