A man, his daughter and a woman have been pulled alive from earthquake rubble in southeastern Turkey after more than 72 hours of the tragedy

Two people have been pulled alive from the rubble of the earthquake in southeastern Turkey more than 72 hours after the quake struck.
Search and rescue teams saved an injured woman from under the rubble in Diyarbakir on Thursday and carried her to an ambulance nearby.
Private news agency DHA reported that three people that were next to her in the rubble were found dead and were recovered after the woman was pulled out.
In the same hour, a girl was pulled out alive from under rubble in Antakya. News agency IHA reported that her father was alive as well, and rescue teams were trying to pull him out.
Soner Guner, the father of Hazal Guner, was rescued two hours after his daughter from the same rubble in Antakya.
Guner was pulled out at the 74th hour after the devastating quake that hit the city and killed 12,873 in southern Turkey.
These were two of the many rescue efforts that played out after Monday&rsquo;s magnitude 7.8 earthquake and its forceful aftershocks.
A frantic race is underway to find more survivors and help the injured as the death toll passed 15,000 in Turkey and Syria.
The toll is likely to climb further as freezing weather and multiple aftershocks are hampering the rescue efforts, despite international assistance.

Rahul Sahu, an 11-year-old boy who had fallen into a borewell in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir Champa district, was rescued after a 104-hour-long operation on Tuesday night, officials said.
Over 500 personnel, including officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army, local police and the administration, were involved in the massive rescue operation that was underway since Friday evening.
Sahu fell into the unused 80-feet-deep borewell, located in the backyard of his house in Pihrid village in Malkharoda development block, around 2 pm on Friday while playing.
He was stuck at the depth of around 60 feet and a pipeline was installed for the oxygen supply.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted, “..with everyone's prayers and relentless and dedicated efforts of the rescue team, Rahul Sahu has been evacuated safely. I wish that he recovers completely as soon as possible.” Television visuals showed the boy being taken in a stretcher.
"His condition is stable and he will recover soon. He is being shifted to Apollo hospital in Bilaspur district in an ambulance under the observation of specialist doctors, for which a green corridor has been created for about 100 km to facilitate speedy movement," Bilaspur Collector Jitendra Shukla said. The boy is conscious, they said, adding that a team of robot specialists from Gujarat has reached the spot and efforts are being made to pull out the child, who is stuck at a depth of about 60 feet in the abandoned borewell.
The boy, Rahul Sahu, fell into the unused 80-feet-deep borewell, located in the backyard of his house in Pihrid village in Malkharoda development block around 2 pm on Friday while he was playing there, officials said.
The rescue teams, comprising over 500 personnel, including officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Army, have been working tirelessly, using ultra-advance machines and vehicles to evacuate the child safely, they said.
As per the latest information, a parallel pit, being dug since Friday evening, is nearing its final stage. A tunnel will then be created which will enable rescuers to reach the borewell and evacuate the child.
A team of robot specialists from Gujarat has also reached the spot and efforts are also being made to pull out the child safely with the help of a robot, officials said.
“Health officials have been constantly monitoring Rahul's condition through cameras. He is conscious and showing movement. He was given a soft drink and banana in the wee hours of Sunday and provided juice this morning. A pipe has been installed for oxygen supply in the borewell,” a government statement said.
“We are hoping that we will be able to rescue the child by late afternoon,” a district administration official said.
Over 500 personnel, including from the NDRF, a four-member Army team, more than 150 policemen and 15 personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), have been engaged in the rescue operation, which began at 4 pm on Friday, officials said.
There is some water inside the borewell where the child is trapped and the NDRF personnel are trying to drain it out with the help of a vessel tied to a rope. Even the child has been helping in the water draining exercise, as per the government statement.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is in touch with officials and constantly taking updates about the operation.
Baghel also spoke to Rahul's family members over phone and assured them that every possible step would be taken to save the child.
District Collector Jitendra Shukla and Superintendent of Police Vijay Agrawal were at the spot since Friday evening.
The CM has also directed all district collectors and SPs that borewells should be covered in order to prevent such incidents.

A man was killed on Monday after falling off a helicopter during a rescue operation following Sunday's Jharkhand ropeway accident, while 15 people trapped inside cable cars will have to wait out one more night before they are brought down to safey, officials said.
A woman, who was injured in the accident, had succumbed on Sunday night. Thirtytwo people have so far been rescued, winched up by two Indian Air Force helicopters, or by sliding down the nylon ropes, more than 28 hours after two cable cars collided mid-air, stalling the ropeway, around 20 km from the temple town of Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar district.

The rescued passengers were airlifted with the help of two IAF choppers, Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri said.
Dramatic visuals showed fidgety people inside the cable cars that hung in air against the backdrop of a rocky hill cliff that overlooked a densely-forested valley.
Helicopters whirred overhead, winching up people stuck in the gondolas overnight, after the accident.
A woman tied to a chair slid down a rope dangling from one of the cable cars, while a little girl made it to safety the same way.
Everything appeared moving smoothly until a man being winched into a helicopter began swinging dangerously, apparently losing his grip over the rope, his only potential link to life.
Seconds before he could be pulled inside the aircraft, he lost his grip and plunged hundreds of feet into the valley.
"Thirty-two people were rescued with the help of choppers, while 15 people are still trapped mid-air in the cable cars suspended at varying heights, the maximum being nearly 1,500 feet. The rescue operation had to be stopped after sunset and will resume tomorrow," Additional Director General of Police R K Mallick told PTI. Mallick said there is heavy security deployment in the area and the rescue effort by joint teams of the Air Force, Army, ITBP and NDRF will recommence early on Tuesday. He also said a man fell from a chopper in the course of rescue and was rushed to hospital, where he died. According to Deoghar Civil Surgeon C K Sahi, he succumbed to injuries after falling from a considerable height. Local BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, however, claimed three people were killed in the accident that took place around 4 pm on Sunday. Drones were used to supply food and water to those trapped in the cable cars.
Expressing sorrow over the incident, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said rescue and relief operations are being conducted on a war footing. Governor Ramesh Bais said,"The accident on the ropeway built on Trikut mountain of Deoghar, a world-famous religious place, is very sad and painful. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and pray to Baba Baidyanath for the speedy recovery of the injured." Health Minister Banna Gupta said an inquiry will be conducted and action taken against those found guilty of negligence. Bhajantri said the accident occurred due to a fault in the ropeway system. The 766-metre-long Trikut ropeway, according to the Jharkhand Tourism Department, is India's highest vertical ropeway.
The ropeway was being run by a private company. Operators running it fled shortly after the accident.
A visibly relieved Sandip, who was stuck in a trolley for 19 hours, said, "I feel Baba Baidyanath (Lord Shiva) gave me a second life. I can't explain the harrowing experience of hanging in a trolley overnight. It was frightening." Devang Jaipal from West Bengal said he wanted to enjoy some time in the lap of nature with the ropeway ride.
"Who knew that I would be hanging in a trolley for a whole night? With no food and water, we had a sleepless night on Sunday. On Monday, we were given some food and water with the help of drones," he said. BJP national vice-president and former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das accused the state government of being inactive, even after such a major accident, and claimed that ministers hailing from the region did not visit the spot. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is keeping an eye on the entire incident, he said. A cable car accident in the ski-resort of Gulmarg two-and-a-half years back saw a family of four and three tourist guides crash to their death after the ropeway snapped. Another ropeway accident in January 2019 in Jammu had caused the death of two workers.

Mallick said there is heavy security deployment in the area and the rescue effort by joint teams of the Air Force, Army, ITBP and NDRF will recommence early on Tuesday. He also said a man fell from a chopper in the course of rescue and was rushed to hospital, where he died. According to Deoghar Civil Surgeon C K Sahi, he succumbed to injuries after falling from a considerable height. Local BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, however, claimed three people were killed in the accident that took place around 4 pm on Sunday. Drones were used to supply food and water to those trapped in the cable cars.

Health Minister Banna Gupta said an inquiry will be conducted and action taken against those found guilty of negligence. Bhajantri said the accident occurred due to a fault in the ropeway system. The 766-metre-long Trikut ropeway, according to the Jharkhand Tourism Department, is India's highest vertical ropeway.
The ropeway was being run by a private company. Operators running it fled shortly after the accident.
A visibly relieved Sandip, who was stuck in a trolley for 19 hours, said, "I feel Baba Baidyanath (Lord Shiva) gave me a second life. I can't explain the harrowing experience of hanging in a trolley overnight. It was frightening." Devang Jaipal from West Bengal said he wanted to enjoy some time in the lap of nature with the ropeway ride.
"Who knew that I would be hanging in a trolley for a whole night? With no food and water, we had a sleepless night on Sunday. On Monday, we were given some food and water with the help of drones," he said. BJP national vice-president and former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das accused the state government of being inactive, even after such a major accident, and claimed that ministers hailing from the region did not visit the spot. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is keeping an eye on the entire incident, he said. A cable car accident in the ski-resort of Gulmarg two-and-a-half years back saw a family of four and three tourist guides crash to their death after the ropeway snapped. Another ropeway accident in January 2019 in Jammu had caused the death of two workers.&nbsp;

A 23-year-old man who was stuck on a hill in Kerala for two days without food and water, was finally rescued by an Army team on Wednesday morning.
Rescue team reached Babu after a massive effort and provided him food and water before hauling him to safety. Babu was being trapped in a cleft on a mountain face in Malampuzha area of Palakkad district.
Visuals showed the youth being helped up the mountain by Army personnel, who are part of the specialised teams which arrived on Tuesday night from Bengaluru, by strapping him to one of the rescuers.
The visuals also showed the rescue team slowly climbing up by making stops in between to give the youth some rest.
Reports said that it was the first of its kind rescue in the state, which involved Army, local bodies, NDRF, Coast Guard with the Air Force also standing by to chip in.

The reptile, measuring over 6 ft, was rescued on Tuesday morning from a sewer in Belapur area, an official of the forest department confirmed.
