To curb such instances, IPS officer and DCP of the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, Monika Bhardwaj took to Twitter and posted tweets pointing out the difference between a genuine Remdesivir&nbsp;injection and a fake version. These are simple checks to identify a fake Remdesivir jab from the genuine one.
1. Fake Remdesivir packages do not have &ldquo;Rx&rdquo; written on them just before the name of the injection.
2. There is an alignment error where the brand name of the product is written. Note the gap on the package of fake and genuine Remdesivir injections, the fake one has an increased gap.
3. There is a capitalisation error in the third line written on the package in the word 'Vial'. The genuine package has the letter 'V' capital&nbsp;while the fake one has a small 'v'.
4. Just below the warning label, key information &ldquo;Covifor [brand name] is manufactured under the license from Gilead Sciences, Inc&rdquo; is missing on the fake injection package.
5. There is a spelling error in the full address on the package containing the fake Remdesivir injection, it spells Telangana as &ldquo;Telagana&rdquo;.

The statement also mentioned the production capacity is being ramped up from current level of 38 lakh vials per month to 74 lakh vials per month, and 20 additional manufacturing sites have been approved. &lsquo;Export of remdesivir has also been prohibited in order to shore up domestic supplies&rsquo; it said.
The Health Ministry and the Department of Pharmaceuticals have made an interim allocation of remdesivir for 19 states and UTs up to April 30. "This allocation pertains to 14 states to which medical oxygen is allocated and five other states where the high volume of supplies are being observed," the centre said.

The Gujarat High Court on Monday pulled up the state govt over the shortage of antiviral drug Remdesivir which is being used to treat <a href="https://www.editorji.com/covid-19" target="_blank">Covid-19</a> patients. The court ordered the Gujarat govt to make the medicine available to all, like Paracetamol, amid the surge in Covid-19 cases.

The judges said they want results instead of getting into a blamegame over people's behaviour, production or medicine stocks. The court took cognisance of a PIL which demanded action against people hoarding the medicines or selling them at inflated prices.
The judges rejected the state government&rsquo;s claims that doctors prescribe indiscriminately, though it is a drug meant to be administered only in emergencies. The judges also commented that when injections are available for VIPs, common people shouldn't have to have in queue to get it. The Gujarat govt has been asked to keep proper account of the stock.
