Sandeep Reddy Vanga&rsquo;s &lsquo;Animal&rsquo;, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is one of the most awaited films of this year. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol. A few leaked pictures of Ranbir&rsquo;s character from the film have been doing the rounds on the internet. Now, it is being reported that veteran actor Shakti Kapoor has been roped in to play a prominent character in the gangster saga. Sources close to PinkVilla revealed, &lsquo;Shakti Kapoor plays the role of a yester-year gangster in Animal and has already shot for his portions in the earlier schedules. He has an interesting character in the film and the team was very excited to have him on board. In fact, it was an obvious casting when Sandeep Reddy Vanga came up with a character of a gangster who is past his peak.&rsquo; Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga tweeted the poster of the film on New Year&rsquo;s Eve. Ranbir was seen smoking a cigarette while staring at someone. He is wearing a shirt stained with blood, and holding an axe. &lsquo;Animal&rsquo; is scheduled to release in theatres on August 11. Actor Ranbir Kapoor is back on the set of his next film &lsquo;Animal&rsquo;. He was recently spotted shooting in a hospital for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna.
In a small clip from the sets is being widely shared on Twitter in which Ranbir can be seen in a blue hospital gown as he heads towards the lift. Ranbir has a huge beard and unkempt long hair. Fans love Ranbir&rsquo;s new rugged avatar, a few even feel he resembles Shahid Kapoor&rsquo;s character in &lsquo;Kabir Singh&rsquo;, which was also directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
In an interview last year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared details about Ranbir's character in &lsquo;Animal&rsquo; and said, &lsquo;I don&rsquo;t think<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/ranbir-kapoor-on-holding-raha-for-the-first-time-magical-moment-for-me-1679298085118"> Ranbir&rsquo;s</a> character is close to Kabir Singh. You won&rsquo;t find any similarity in the characters but there&rsquo;s definitely violence. What will be common between both the movies is that they&rsquo;re character-driven stories.&rsquo;
