The inauguration of the incomplete temple by the leaders of the BJP and the RSS has been obviously brought forward for electoral gain," read a statement from senior party leader Jairam Ramesh.&nbsp;
"While abiding by the 2019 Supreme Court judgment and honouring the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have respectfully declined the invitation to what is clearly an RSS/BJP event," he added.

Nirmala Sitharaman has claimed that the DMK has barred Tamil Nadu temples from holding special puja for Lord Ram on the day of the consecration of the Ayodhya temple.

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday alleged that the Tamil Nadu government has barred the live telecast of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.
Citing a Tamil daily's reportage, she also claimed that the temples have been prohibited from organising special puja for Lord Ram.
"TN govt has banned watching live telecast of #AyodhaRamMandir programmes of 22 Jan 24. In TN there are over 200 temples for Shri Ram," she posted.
"In HR&amp;CE managed temples no puja/bhajan/prasadam/annadanam in the name of Shri Ram is allowed. Police are stopping privately held temples also from organising events. They are threatening organisers that they will rip off pandals. Strongly condemn this anti-Hindu, hateful action."
However, the claim was swiftly denied by Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR &amp;CE) Minister PK Sekar Babu who expressed dismay at the finance minister for propagating this erroneous information.&nbsp;
"In temples in Tamil Nadu, the HR &amp; CE Department has not imposed any kind of ban for conduct of puja for Lord Ram. Also, there is no bar to distribute 'Annadhanam' and 'Prasadam.' "A rumour is being disseminated to divert people's attention from the DMK's youth wing conference, underway now at Salem," he said in a social media post.
He termed the reportage as completely false, adding that it had ulterior motives. He said it was regrettable that Sitharaman, who holds a high office, was circulating such fake news.&nbsp;

The vice president also wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion.
"Gratifying to witness &nbsp;celebratory moment marking reawakening of national pride all over.," said Dhankhar.
"Heartfelt wishes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as he leads, after 11-day rigorous &lsquo;anushthan&rsquo;, the sacred rituals in the presence of other yajmans, saints and seers guiding the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya," he added.
The temple town of Ayodhya is all set to welcome Lord Ram with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to participate in the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Mandir on Monday.
The 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla -- the childhood form of Lord Ram -- will be attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of major spiritual and religious sects of the country, representatives of various tribal communities and prominent personalities.
The ceremony will begin at 12:20 pm, and according to the temple's trust, it is expected to end by 1 pm. Following this, the prime minister will address the gathering.

From drones to CCTV cameras, Ayodhya was seen covered with multi-layer security as India geared up for the grand Ram Temple ceremony.&nbsp;

The temple town of Ayodhya was covered with tight, multi-layered security on January 21 as the nation geared up for the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple. Apart from police and special forces, the Uttar Pradesh government has also used technologies like night vision devices and CCTV cameras to monitor activities throughout Ayodhya.
A multi-layer security cover is in place in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, with 10,000 CCTVs keeping an eye on the movement of people and police personnel in plain clothes deployed at the venue.
&nbsp;From Dharampath and Rampath in Ayodhya, which are witnessing a huge influx of devotees, to bylanes of the Hanumangarhi area and Asharfi Bhavan road, policemen can be seen patrolling the streets.
Police said that security along the Saryu River has also been increased with the help of NDRF and SDRF teams. Surveillance drones are also there to keep track of any possible suspicious activity.&nbsp;
"The 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, which will be held on January 22, is going to be a historic event. For this, the Uttar Pradesh Police has made elaborate security arrangements and along with it, security has been ensured for every road along the entire red zone, yellow zone and Ayodhya district," Director General (DG), Law and Order, Prashant Kumar had recently said.
To ensure better security arrangements at the programme venue in Ayodhya, technology is being used on a large scale.
"For this, 10,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire Ayodhya district. In some of these CCTV cameras, we are using AI-based technology so that we can maintain a strict vigil on commuters," the DG said.
Police personnel with multi-lingual skills will be deployed in plain clothes at the programme venue.
The main ceremony is expected to begin at 12.20 pm and end by 1 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will then address 8,000 guests, including seers and prominent personalities, at the venue. The entire event will be telecast live.

A "Kalash Pujan" was held on Wednesday as part of the rituals being performed in the run-up to the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram temple here, a member of the temple's trust said.
The rituals started on Tuesday, and trust general secretary Champat Rai had said that these will continue till January 21. On the day of the consecration, minimum essential rituals needed for the "Pran Pratishtha" of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted, he had said.
The "Kalash Pujan" was done by Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Anil Mishra, his wife and others on the banks of the Saryu river.
Following this ritual, pots filled with water of the Saryu will be taken to the place (Ram temple complex) where the pre-consecration rituals are being held, according to Mishra.
Mishra who is the "yajman" for the "puja" has to attend all the rituals, including those which will be performed on January 22.
The Ram temple "Pran Pratishtha" will begin at 12.20 pm on January 22 and is expected to end by 1 pm.&nbsp;

"Rahul Gandhi lives in a la-la world. He thinks everything he says is predicated on nobody understanding the truth and he can get away with these atrocious lies.
"He tried so in 2014 and 2019 and is trying again. The people of India are wise enough. They understand the truth and what his politics is about," he said.
Union Minister and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that Ram temple is important for Hindus in every corner of the country, and slammed him for labelling the religious ceremony as a "political event".
At a press conference during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Nagaland, &nbsp;Gandhi earlier said that it is difficult for his party's leaders to attend the January 22 ceremony as the BJP and the RSS have turned it into a "political event" centred around Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Family members of Dalit icons BR Ambedkar, Jagjivan Ram, Kanshi Ram and other "prominent people" belonging to the scheduled castes have been invited to the January 22 event. Families of "karsevaks", who died during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, are also expected to attend. Celebrities, farmers, labourers and thousands of seers from across the country are among those invited.
Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of the host state Uttar Pradesh, is the only CM who has been invited to the ceremony which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Senior Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have declined the invite saying that the BJP and RSS have turned it into a political event.
Pre-Praan Pratishtha sacraments have already begun in Ayodhya in the run up to the big event on January 22. The idol of lord Ram is expected to be around 150-200 kgs and will be placed at its position in the 'Garbh Griha' of the temple on January 18.

The Confederation of All India Traders has estimated that a business of Rs 1 lakh crore will happen by way of spendings on purchase of goods and Availment of different services for the events etc.

Over 200 major markets in Delhi alone is expected to witness a business of Rs 20 thousand crore. CAIT in a press release has mentioned that the markets are witnessing a high demand for Shri Ram flags, banners, caps, T-shirts, and printed kurtas featuring the image of the Ram Mandir. The demand for models of the Ram Mandir has also seen a rapid increase, and it is expected that over 5 crore models will be sold across the country for which small manufacturing units are working day-night in many cities of different states.
Meanwhile a large number of traditional musical instruments players like Dhol, Tashe, Nafiri, Shehnai, Band groups and craftsman for preparation of tableaus for Shobha Yatra etc are also expected to contribute to the economy.

A week ahead of the grand consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Ram Bhaktas held car rallies in 21 cities across the US with the enthusiastic participants in the national capital organising an innovative Tesla Car musical show dedicated to Lord Ram.
Over 100 Ram Bhakts, each owning a Tesla Car, gathered at Shri Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple in Frederick City -- a Maryland suburb of Washington DC -- on Saturday night.
They used one of the key features of Tesla cars wherein the headlights and speakers of these Tesla cars synced with a popular number dedicated to Lord Ram.

According to the organisers of the Tesla Music Show, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, more than 200 Tesla Car owners had registered for the event and they had to turn on a significantly large number of them.
Drone pictures taken by the event organisers showed that these Tesla Cars created a &ldquo;RAM&rdquo; by placing these cars in such a way.
&ldquo;Today we had the Tesla Ram Bhagwan musical event on the occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. We are grateful to the generation of Hindus over the last 500 years to have struggled for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya,&rdquo; said Mahendra Sapa, president of the DC chapter of VHP America, organisers of the Tesla musical event here.
&ldquo;The Tesla light show is just the beginning of the celebration of the Ram Temple inauguration,&rdquo; said Animesh Shukla, one of the volunteer organisers. VHPA plans to organise similar light shows on January 20, he said.
VHP America, which is leading the Ram temple celebrations in the US, on Saturday held car rallies in as many as 21 cities: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Carmel (Indiana), Cary and Charlotte in North Carolina, Chicago, Denver in Colorado, Edison in New Jersey; Houston, Austin and San Antonio in Texas&rsquo; New York, Phoenix, Portland; Sacramento, San Francisco and Simi Valley in California; Seattle and St Louis. More such rallies are scheduled on Sunday as well.
Meanwhile, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America announced the placement of large billboards in over 10 states.
&ldquo;More than 40 billboards will prominently display the message of the Shri Ram Janam Bhumi Mandir (Temple) Consecration Ceremony scheduled for January 22, 2024. This momentous event, awaited by the Hindu community for over 25 generations (495 years), will be celebrated with unprecedented enthusiasm,&rdquo; a media release said.
The billboards have already been unveiled in Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. Additionally, Arizona and the State of Missouri are set to join this visual celebration starting on Monday, January 15.
&ldquo;The resounding message conveyed by these billboards is that Hindu Americans are elated and joyously participating in this once-in-a-lifetime event. Their emotions overflow as they eagerly await the auspicious day of the consecration ceremony,&rdquo; the statement said.&nbsp;

In a press release, the party said that the BJP and RSS have made the Ayodhya temple a political project. Congress further said that the inauguration of the incomplete temple in Ayodhya is being brought forward for electoral gain.
"Religion is a personal matter. But the RSS/BJP have long made a political project of the temple in Ayodhya. The inauguration of the incomplete temple by the leaders of the BJP and the RSS has been obviously brought forward for electoral gain," read a statement from senior party leader Jairam Ramesh.
"While abiding by the 2019 Supreme Court judgment and honouring the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have respectfully declined the invitation to what is clearly an RSS/BJP event," he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took no time to slam the Congress party over its decision.
Speaking to PTI news agency, BJP leader Nalin Kohli said, "Congress took no steps over the last few decades for a temple at Ayodhya. They denied the existence of Lord Ram and delayed the hearing in the Supreme Court. So, the Congress party officially stating that it is not going to attend Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha should come as no surprise.&rdquo;&nbsp;
The Congress' decision to skip the event might have massive political ramifications for the party in the upcoming general elections, where the Bharatiya Janata party is expected to make it one of the highlights of its government's achievements.&nbsp;
The invitation was extended to several opposition parties of the INDIA bloc, except the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena party.&nbsp;
While the CPI(M) party has refused to attend the ceremony, other prominent members of the bloc like Nitish Kumar, Mamata Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav are yet to comment on the matter.

Speaking with ANI on Monday, the minister said, "Yes. The helicopter services will start for devotees visiting the city. We are also planning to start water services Airport services have already started."

As a part of ongoing projects under the Vision Document 2047, Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has initiated a project to install prefabricated toilets at all the scenic ghats along the holy Sarayu River so that tourists coming to Ayodhya for consecration ceremony of Ram Temple as well as for Magh Snan do not face any inconvenience.
Notably, after the consecration ceremony on January 22, there will be a huge gathering of devotees at the banks of the Sarayu River and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
Moreover, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti on January 15, saints, devotees, and the local population of Ayodhya will take a dip in the holy Sarayu at various ghats under Magh Snan. Because of this, the Yogi Government is going to install prefab toilets to provide sanitation facilities for the visitors.
According to an official release, the process of installation, operation and maintenance of 500 prefab toilets has already been started at all the major ghats along Saryu River through selection of an agency. The agency will be determined with due consideration to cost and quality.
Under this, the agencies willing to work will have to implement processes like demonstrating the working prototype of these toilets in front of the ADA and providing the best facilities at a low cost.

Mayor Adams attended a Mata Ki Chowki, a religious celebration, at the Geeta Mandir in the city. Adams -- joined by one of his top allies Deputy Commissioner of International Affairs Dilip Chauhan- thanked and highlighted the "importance of true faith and the importance of worship."
When asked about the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and what it meant to the Hindus of New York City, Adams said that the opening is "extremely important."
"We have one of the largest Indian populations here in the city and (Ram Mandir opening) allows them to celebrate and lift their spirituality to help us all in the healing process," Mayor Adams told the Hindu community members.
On Diwali, the 110th mayor of New York City, Adams announced the Festival of Lights as a New York City public school holiday. The announcement came after state lawmakers approved a bill, first introduced in 2021 and reintroduced in 2022. Supporters, especially the Indian American Community of New York, had been attempting to get the date on the public school calendar for more than two decades.
"I would like to add how Mayor Adams loves the Hindu community, he is the first in history to declare Diwali as a public holiday", said Chauhan expressing gratitude to the Mayor's move of declaring Diwali a holiday.
The push for official recognition of Diwali comes as South Asians have gained numbers and clout in New York and nationally. The population of New York City residents categorised as Asian Indian by the Census Bureau has more than doubled in the last three decades, from 94,000 in 1990 to about 213,000 in the 2021 American Community Survey.
Adams won New York City's mayoral race in 2021 on promises to boost public safety and give voice to working-class residents, drawing on his experience as a police captain and as a Black man who experienced police brutality as a youth.
In his remarks to the community, Adams was not shy about accepting the support from the Hindu community and said that his triumph was a result of his faith, the faith of the Hindus and the blessing of temple priest Swami Satyanand of Geeta Temple in New York.
"I know that prayer works, I know that we show and display our faith we can overcome all obstacles and the challenges and difficulties that come with becoming a mayor. It was due to my faith. It was due to your breath. It was due to your belief that I'm here today."
"When we were running to become mayor, you blessed me and told me that I would be the mayor of New York City and as we see today, seven years later," Adams told Swami Satyanand. Adams also made a special mention of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita and the importance of their teachings as he thanked the South Asian community.
"And just say thank you and we will travel this journey together as we continue forward. We live in the spirit and energy of Rama and Sita. The sacrifices, the dedication to commitment is what is going to take us through these difficult moments," Adams concluded.

The Mandir is in the traditional Nagara style and has a length (east-west) of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet. Nagara architecture is a style of temple architecture originating in North India. The Temples have tall pyramidal towers called Shikharas that have a Kalash at the top. Pillars of the temples are carved with intricate designs and the walls decorated with sculptures and reliefs.
According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth, The Ram Mandir is three-storied, with each floor being 20 feet tall. It has a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. The Garbhagriha is the innermost sanctum of the temple, where the deity is enshrined. In the main sanctum sanctorum, there is the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ram Lalla) and on the first floor, there will be a Shri Ram Darbar.
