Congress on 27th February won three of the four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka, while BJP bagged one.
All three Congress candidates Ajay Maken, Dr Syed Naseer Hussain and GC Chandrashekhar have been elected to the Upper House of the Parliament.
From BJP, Narayana Bandage won a Rajya Sabha seat. BJP-JD(S) joint candidate Kupendra Reddy lost the elections. &nbsp;
In a setback to BJP, MLA ST Somashekar cross-voted for Congress' Ajay Maken, while another saffron party legislator Arbail Shivaram Hebbar abstained from voting.
Somashekar represents Yashwantpur assembly constituency and Hebbar from Yellapur segment.
"We have got the information that Somashekar has done cross-voting. I believe that people do not like cheating every now and then," the Leader of Opposition R Ashoka told reporters here.
"I consulted with advocate Vivek Reddy who is our state legal cell president and a high court lawyer. We will ask the Speaker to initiate action against him (Somashekar) and explore the possibilities to take steps in accordance with the law," the former deputy chief minister said.
Somashekar had quit the Congress and joined the BJP. He served as the minister (in the BJP government) and was made the Mysuru district in charge.
Ashoka termed Somashekar's decision as "political suicide".

In a big setback for the Samajwadi Party in the Rajya Sabha elections, the party's chief whip in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Manoj Kumar Pandey resigned before voting commenced.
Pandey was among eight MLAs who skipped a dinner hosted by party chief Akhilesh Yadav last night. Mukesh Verma, Maharaji Prajapati, Pooja Pal, Rakesh Pandey, Vinod Chaturvedi, Rakesh Pratap Singh and Abhay Singh were the others absent from the meeting.&nbsp;
Ten Rajya Sabha seats are up for grabs from UP, and SP candidates were expected to win three of them. However, the BJP fielded eight candidates, setting the stage for a strong contest for one seat.&nbsp;
Speaking to reporters amid fears of cross-voting, Yadav said, "Those who wanted to profit from the situation will go. Those who were made promises will go."
Citing the example of Chandigarh Mayoral elections, Yadav slammed the BJP saying it would adopt any means to win elections.
The BJP and the SP are the two largest parties in the 403-member state assembly with 252 and 108 MLAs, respectively. The Congress, an alliance partner of the SP, has two seats.
BJP ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has 13 seats, NISHAD Party has six seats, RLD has nine, SBSP six, Jansatta Dal Loktantrik two and the BSP has one seat. Four seats are currently vacant.
BJP has fielded former Union minister RPN Singh, former MP Chaudhary Tejveer Singh, general secretary of the party's Uttar Pradesh unit Amarpal Maurya, former state minister Sangeeta Balwant, party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, former MLA Sadhna Singh, former Agra mayor Naveen Jain and industrialist Sanjay Seth.
The Samajwadi Party has fielded actor-MP Jaya Bachchan, retired IAS officer Alok Ranjan and Dalit leader Ramji Lal Suman.

The 5-time Lok Sabha MP, who represents Rae Bareli, will not participate in the upcoming general elections.

Five-time Lok Sabha member Sonia Gandhi has filed her nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls from Rajasthan. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi &nbsp;accompanied the former Congress president to Jaipur, where she filed the papers.&nbsp;
It will be the 77-year-old leader's first term in the Upper House. The seat will fall vacant after former prime minister Manmohan Singh completes his six-year tenure in April.
A total of 56 members of Rajya Sabha from 15 states are retiring in April and the election to the seats will be held on February 27. The last date for filing nominations is February 15.
The Congress is comfortably placed to win one of the three Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan for which elections will be held.&nbsp;
She will be the second member of the Gandhi family to enter Rajya Sabha after former prime minister Indira Gandhi, who was a member of the Upper House from August 1964 to February 1967.
The party has not formally declared any candidate for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections.
Gandhi had announced in 2019 that it would be her last Lok Sabha election. Speculation is rife that her daughter Priyanka could contest from Rae Bareli constituency in her stead.
That Sonia Gandhi chose to contest from Rajasthan and not from a southern state like Telangana or Karnataka, where the party is also comfortably placed to win, is also a signal that the Congress' first family is not abandoning the Hindi-heartland.&nbsp;

The Congress’ value of votes was 2,900.

Malik was arrested by the ED on February 23 this year in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides.
