Panic gripped people at a hospital in Nashik after an oxygen tanker leakage was reported. An Oxygen tanker leaked while tankers were being filled at Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra. Officials present at the spot, said operation is underway to contain the leak. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said it is anticipated that 15% of currently active cases may need oxygen, adding the state has made arrangements of 1550 MT of oxygen and is expecting the &lsquo;Oxygen which Govt of India will import.&rsquo;

At least 24 patients died on Wednesday due to interrupted supply of oxygen at a civic hospital for <a href="https://www.editorji.com/covid-19" target="_blank">Covid-19</a> patients in&nbsp;Maharashtra's&nbsp;Nashik,&nbsp;Mayor Satish Kulkarni&nbsp;said.&nbsp;
The deaths took place following the leakage from an oxygen storage plant at the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital.
The patients were on ventilators as well as on oxygen supply, which got interrupted after the leakage in the oxygen supply tank.
The mayor has given a clean chit to municipal corporatation&nbsp;and said that a high-level committee has set up to probe the matter.
Maharashtra&nbsp;govt has also launched a probe into the incident.&nbsp;

Announcing the capping of the price, state health minister Rajesh Tope said that when the govt is penalising people for not wearing masks due to the Covid pandemic, the masks have to affordable for the common people. Maharashtra is the worst affected state by the coronavirus pandemic.
