<p>If you are a true Indian, you wouldn't say such a thing, the Supreme Court on Monday said as it censured Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged derogatory remarks about the Indian Army during his Bharat Jodo Yatra.</p>
<p>The top court, however, stayed the proceedings initiated in the matter against Gandhi before a Lucknow court.</p>
<p>A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government and the complainant in the case.</p>
<p>"You are leader of opposition. Why don't you say things in Parliament, why do you have to say it on social media?" the bench asked.</p>
<p>The top court continued, "How do you get to know that 2,000 sq km of Indian territory has been occupied by Chinese? Were you there? Do you have any credible material?" The bench further asked, "Why do you make these statements without having any material? If you are a true Indian, you won't say such a thing." Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Gandhi, submitted if the leader of opposition cannot raise issues, it would be an unfortunate situation.</p>
<p>"If he can't say these things which are published in the Press, then he can't be a leader of opposition," Singhvi submitted.</p>
<p>On the bench's true Indian remark, Singhvi replied," It is also possible that a true Indian will say that our 20 Indian soldiers were beaten up and killed. This it is also a matter of concern." The top court then said, "When there is a conflict across the border, is it unusual to have casualties on either sides?" Singhvi said Gandhi was only on the point of proper disclosure and raising concerns about the suppression of information.</p>
<p>Justice Datta said being a responsible leader of opposition, Gandhi ought not have done it as there was a proper forum to raise such questions.</p>
<p>While agreeing that Gandhi could have made the comments in a better manner, Singhvi said the complaint was nothing but an attempt to harass the petitioner.</p>
<p>Singhvi referred to Section 223 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and said a prior hearing of the accused was mandatory before the court took cognisance of a criminal complaint, which was not done in the present case.</p>
<p>The top court then issued notice on the plea while seeking response in three weeks and stayed the proceedings in the Lucknow trial court.</p>
<p>The Allahabad High Court on May 29 dismissed Gandhi's plea.</p>
<p>Gandhi challenged the summoning order and the complaint arguing that it was motivated and lodged in mala fide manner.</p>
<p>In his plea filed in a court, complainant Udai Shanker Srivastava alleged during the December 2022 Yatra, Gandhi made several derogatory remarks about the Indian Army in context of the conflict with Chinese soldiers.</p>
<p>The lower court then summoned Gandhi as an accused for facing trial.</p>
<p>Gandhi's advocate Pranshu Agarwal had argued that the allegations appeared to be fabricated just by reading the complaint.</p>
<p>It was also argued that Gandhi is not a resident of Lucknow, so before summoning him on this complaint, the subordinate court should have investigated the veracity of the allegations and he should have been summoned only if the allegations were prima-facie found to be fit for trial.</p>

<p>In his remarks, Gandhi said, "I clearly stated that something went wrong in the Maharashtra elections. We are uncomfortable with the way the Election Commission operates. <p>Gandhi said it is the Election Commission's duty to provide a voters' list with names and addresses of those who voted in the Vidhan Sabha election.</p>

<p>"Why would the Election Commission refuse to make the voters' list transparent? What purpose does it serve by not providing us with the list, and why are they withholding it? It is the Election Commission's duty to provide transparency, and it is their sacred responsibility to explain why this has happened," he said.</p>
<p>"This is something that every Congressman and every opposition member must keep in mind. There is a serious problem with our election system, and it is the Election Commission's duty to be transparent," he said.</p>

If there is an increase of one crore in (the number of) voters in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha in Maharashtra, it is the duty and sacred responsibility of the EC to show us exactly why this has happened. <p>Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Rajya Sabha MP of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sanjay Singh alleged at a press conference here that the actions of the Congress are damaging the unity of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).</p>
<p>"We had not said a single word against the Congress during the Haryana election. Yet the Congress seems to be reading out from the BJP's script. Its candidates' list looks as if it was finalised at the BJP office," Singh said.</p>
<p>He accused Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dixit of targeting the AAP, instead of focusing on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).</p>
<p>"Ajay Maken has crossed all limits by calling Arvind Kejriwal anti-national. Despite campaigning for the Congress in past elections, Kejriwal now faces an FIR, while the Congress had never filed a single FIR against any BJP leader," Singh said.</p>
<p>Atishi echoed similar sentiments, claiming that the Congress is actively undermining the AAP.</p>
<p>"It is evident that Congress candidates like Sandeep Dixit and Farhad Suri are receiving support from the BJP. This collusion raises questions about the Congress's commitment to the INDIA alliance," she said.</p>
<p>The AAP demanded disciplinary action against Maken and other Congress leaders within 24 hours and said if no step is taken, it will push for the grand old party's expulsion from the INDIA bloc.</p>
<p>"We will ask the other parties in the alliance to remove the Congress," Singh said.</p>
<p>The Delhi Assembly polls are due in February.</p>

<p>An FIR under sections 117 (voluntary causing grievous hurt), 115 (voluntary causing hurt), 125 (an act of endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS was registered at Parliament Street Police station.</p>
<p>Earlier in the day, the BJP filed a police complaint against the Leader of Opposition, accusing him of &ldquo;physical assault and incitement&rdquo; during a scuffle in Parliament premises, and sought his indictment under sections of attempt to murder and other charges.</p>
<p>BJP MP Hemang Joshi, accompanied by party colleagues Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, visited the Parliament Street Police Station and filed the complaint.</p>

<p>The BJP charged the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha with pushing an MP leading to injuries to two of its lawmakers, but Gandhi denied it and said it was he who was pushed by a ruling party member.</p>

<p>The acrimonious face-off between the opposition and ruling NDA over alleged insult to B R Ambedkar took an unprecedented ugly turn in Parliament premises on Thursday with claims of pushing and shoving involving MPs, leaving two BJP members hospitalised and a woman BJP MP accusing Rahul Gandhi of "misbehaving" with her.</p>
<p>The BJP charged the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha with pushing an MP leading to injuries to two of its lawmakers, but Gandhi denied it and said it was he who was pushed by a ruling party member while Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also accused protesting BJP members of shoving him and injuring his knees.</p>
<p>Both sides lodged complaints at Parliament Street police station, blaming each other for what must be a sordid incident without parallel involving MPs within the premises of Parliament. They also complained to the respective Chair in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha against each other.</p>
<p>BJP MPs Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Chandra Sarangi sustained injuries and were admitted to the RML hospital, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking to them over phone to enquire about their health.</p>
<p>The hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla said they had sustained head injuries.</p>
<p>"We have filed a complaint against Mr Rahul Gandhi for physical assault and incitement," BJP MP Anurag Thakur told mediapersons outside the police station.</p>
<p>A number of MPs of the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance were protesting at the steps of Parliament's 'Makar Dwar', an entrance and exit reserved for lawmakers, against the Congress' alleged insult of Ambedkar, while MPs from the Congress and its allies were demonstrating over Union Minister Home Amit Shah's remarks on Ambedkar and accused the BJP of slighting the architect of the Constitution.</p>
<p>BJP MPs claimed that Gandhi tried to push his way inside Parliament through the middle of the stairs where they were standing, ignoring a side passage, and caused injuries in the ensuing jostling. However, some opposition MPs claimed that the BJP members refused to give way to Gandhi who was heading to the Lok Sabha to attend the House proceedings.</p>
<p>Rejecting the BJP members' charge, Gandhi told reporters, "I was trying to enter Parliament and the BJP MPs were stopping me, pushing me and threatening me."</p>
<p>The incident happened some minutes before both Houses were to convene at 11 am.</p>
<p>The 69-year-old Sarangi, a BJP member from Balasore in Odisha and a former minister, suffered injuries on the left temple. BJP member Nishikant Dubey accused Gandhi of pushing the senior leader.</p>
<p>"Are you not ashamed Rahul, you are resorting to rowdy behaviour ('gundagardi'). You pushed an old man," a furious Dubey told Gandhi.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Opposition INDIA bloc parties submitted a notice in the Rajya Sabha on December 10, seeking the removal of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, accusing him of partisan conduct as the Chairman of the Upper House. While the motion to remove Dhankhar would require a simple majority in the 243-member Rajya Sabha, the opposition lacks the numbers needed to pass it. However, opposition leaders maintained that the motion was an important step to uphold parliamentary democracy.</p>
<p>The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon as both opposition and government members exchanged heated accusations over the no-confidence motion against Dhankhar.</p>

<p>The court had on June 1 granted bail to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar after they appeared before it in connection with the defamation case.</p>

<p>Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday was granted bail by a special court here in connection with a case filed by the BJP's Karnataka unit for issuing "defamatory" advertisements in mainstream newspapers.</p>
<p>The advertisement ahead of Assembly polls last year accused the then BJP government in the state of indulging in large-scale corruption during its 2019-2023 rule.</p>
<p>The court had on June 1 granted bail to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who is also the State Congress chief, after they appeared before it in connection with the defamation case.</p>
<p>Judge K N Shivakumar had directed Gandhi to appear before the court on June 7 without fail.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on May 29 met Sidhu Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh on the second death anniversary of the singer. Gandhi met Singh in Ludhiana during a campaign rally in Punjab ahead of the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on June 1.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Gandhi and Sidhu Moosewala's father talked about the singer supporting the Congress party, and how Sidhu Moosewala's interest in music grew, among other things.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In the video, Balkaur Singh also talked about hoping for the INDIA bloc to come to power so that justice is served to Sidhu Moosewala.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Singh further said that days before Sidhu Moosewala was killed, the singer got a call from the BJP and he took it quite lightly. Balkaur Singh said that when Moosewala lost the elections, Amit Shah called him. Singh said that Moosewala came up to him and said, 'papa, phool wale phone kar rahe hai'.&nbsp;</p>

But if you do not want to step out of your house, you can easily make this Korean dessert at home without much effort.</p>
<h3><strong>How to make Korean dessert 'Bingsu'</strong></h3>
<p>To make Bingsu, first make strawberry sauce by boiling water, strawberries and sugar tpogether in a pan. Now add the strawberry sauce and some milk in a mixer and blend it well. After this, pour this paste into a zip lock bag and keep it in the refrigerator for about 4 hours. Now put it in a bowl and top it with strawberry slices, sauce and vanilla ice cream and serve Bingsu.</p>

<p>Bingsu is a popular Korean dessert made from finely shaved ice topped with various ingredients. The base of the dessert is the shaved ice, which has a fluffy, snow-like texture. Traditional toppings often include sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, red beans (pat), and tteok (Korean rice cakes). Modern variations have expanded to include a wide range of toppings such as fresh fruits, nuts, chocolate, and even ice cream.</p>

<p>Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday had a close shave when a portion of the dais set up for one of his election rallies in Bihar caved in.</p>
<p>Gandhi was at Paliganj, on the outskirts of the state capital, to canvass for RJD president Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti, who is contesting Patliputra Lok Sabha seat.</p>
<p>Bharti was leading Gandhi towards his seat when he was seen struggling for balance as a portion of the make-shift stage sagged.</p>
<p>An alert Bharti quickly held Gandhi by the hand, helping him regain his balance and they smilingly told anxious security personnel, who ran to help, that the Congress leader was fine.&nbsp;</p>
