The Punjab government has turned down IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu's request for voluntary retirement for allegedly "falsifying" her grounds and asked her to resume her duties immediately.
The development comes days after the Centre's Department of Personnel and Training formally relieved her after accepting her resignation.
A 2011-batch IAS officer, Sidhu, who is contesting the Bathinda parliamentary constituency on a BJP ticket, had put in her papers last month, requesting that the condition of a three-month notice period also be waived.
Later, she joined the BJP in Delhi.
Sidhu is the daughter-in-law of Akali Dal leader Sikandar Singh Maluka.
After she joined the BJP on April 11, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the state government had not accepted her resignation as an IAS officer.
At the latest, Sidhu was posted as the managing director of the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation.
According to a communication from the state personnel department to Sidhu, the waiving of the notice period can only be given by the state government and that too if it is satisfied with the reasons recorded in writing.
The communication pointed out that Sidhu had also written directly to the Centre on April 7 for the acceptance of her application for VRS.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday said the 2024-25 Punjab budget reflects his government's commitment towards the welfare of people and the state's growth.

Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that to create a sports culture in Punjab and build a structure for sportsmen at the village level under the new sports policy made on the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a Sports Nursery is being built in every 4-5 km radius.

"Due to my personal reasons and certain other commitments, I tender my resignation from the post of governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh. Please accept the same and oblige," Purohit wrote in his resignation letter.
His resignation came a day after he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Their meeting came days after the BJP trumped the Congress-AAP alliance and swept the Chandigarh mayoral polls, retaining all three posts.

Out of ten teams, five teams are for treatment, two teams for sampling, two teams for night duty and one team has been deputed at the Veterinary Hospital, Raike Kalan.&nbsp;
Giving assurances of every possible support from the state government, S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government is standing by its livestock farmers in this difficult time and teams have been deputed to monitor the situation round the clock, and the state will bear all the cost incurred on treatment of the affected livestock.&nbsp;
He further informed that a control-room has been set up at Raike Kalan Dharamshala, besides, operationalising a district level control-room at the office of Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, Bathinda, where two teams have been deputed under the supervision of senior officers of the Animal Husbandry department.
