Briefing the media after the arrest of two doctors of state-run Sassoon Hospital, Kumar said that the blood sample of the accused minor was thrown in the dustbin.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar on 27th May said that the blood sample collected of the minor involved in the Porsche accident belonged to another person who didn't consume alcohol.
Briefing the media after the arrest of two doctors of state-run Sassoon Hospital, Kumar said that the blood sample of the accused minor was thrown in the dustbin. Police have repeatedly claimed that the 17-year-old accused, who is the son of a prominent Pune realtor, was heavily drunk at the time of the accident.
"Sections 120 (B), 467 Forgery and 201, 213, 214 Destruction of evidence have been added in this matter. We received the forensic report yesterday and it has been revealed that the sample collected at Sassoon Hospital, which the doctor there sealed and wrote the name of the juvenile accused before sending it to the Forensics, was not the sample of the juvenile accused," Kumar said.
"After this, we detained the doctors who had sealed this report and sent it to forensics. During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that he had taken the sample of juvenile accused but had thrown it in the dustbin and replaced it with the sample of another person and sent it to the forensics. He did this on the instructions of Dr. Ajay Taware, who is the HOD of Forensic Medicine of Sassoon Hospital. We will produce them in court and request for police custody remand..."
On the instructions of Dr Taware, the juvenile's blood samples were thrown into a dustbin and replaced with the blood samples of another person, he said.
"The investigation also revealed that it was the juvenile's father who had called Dr Ajay Taware and offered him allurements to replace the blood samples," Kumar claimed.
The senior police official further said that as an abundant precaution, they had taken one more sample of the juvenile for DNA sampling and it was sent to another hospital.
"The report of the other hospital revealed the juvenile's blood report at the Sassoon Hospital was manipulated as the DNA of (blood samples of) both the reports did not match," he said.
Both the doctors did not have any idea that the police would take one more sample (of the accused juvenile), he said.
"A probe is underway on whose blood samples were collected to replace with that of the juvenile's. We have recovered CCTV footages of the Sassoon Hospital and further probe is on," Kumar said.
He also said that Indian Penal sections 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and other relevant sections have been added to the case in which the juvenile has been booked.
"We have made the juvenile's father co-accused in the present case," he said.
The teenager was initially granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board, which also asked him to write an essay on road accidents, but following outrage over the lenient treatment and a review application by the police, he was sent to an observation home till June 5.
The police have arrested the teenager's father, who is a realtor, and his grandfather in connection with the accident.

The development comes hours after the minor's father, Vishal Agarwal, who is a real estate developer, was detained from Sambhajinagar this morning.

Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar told ANI news agency on May 21 that they have arrested the bar's owner and manager for serving liquor to the 17-year-old who mowed down two people with his Porsce car.
The development comes hours after the minor's father, Vishal Agarwal, who is a real estate developer, was detained from Sambhajinagar this morning.&nbsp;
The Porsche car was allegedly driven by the 17-year-old, who the police claim was drunk at the time after consuming liquor at a bar. He, while driving the car in an inebriated state, knocked down two motorbike riders in Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of Sunday, causing their deaths.
"We have detained the teenager's father from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and he is being brought to Pune and will be arrested in the case registered against him," Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar told PTI news agency.
Police had registered a case against the teenager's father, a real estate developer, under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act, and against the owners and staff members of the bar establishment for serving alcohol to an underage person.
The probe in these cases has been transferred to the crime branch, an official earlier said.
Section 75 deals with "willful neglect of a child, or exposing a child to mental or physical illnesses," while section 77 deals with supplying a child with intoxicating liquor or drugs.
According to the FIR lodged in connection with the incident, the man, despite knowing his son did not have a valid driving license, gave him the car, thus endangering the latter's life, and allowed him to party even as the father knew that he consumes liquor.
A group of friends were returning on motorbikes at around 3.15 am on Sunday after a party when the speeding Porsche hit one of the motorcycles at Kalyani Nagar junction.
The two riders -- Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, both 24-year-old IT professionals and hailing from Madhya Pradesh -- died of their injuries, police said.
The teenager was subsequently produced before the Juvenile Justice Board which granted him bail hours later. It also directed him to visit the Regional Transport Office and study traffic rules, and submit a presentation to the Board within 15 days.
"The CCL (Child in Conflict with Law) will write an essay of 300 words on the topic of road accidents and their solutions," the order read.
According to police, a case has been registered against the youngster under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder ) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The police on Monday said they will move a higher court for permission to try the teenager involved in the accident as an adult.

A 34-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he set himself on fire outside a police outpost in Pune city of Maharashtra seeking immediate action on a complaint he has lodged, an official said.
The incident took place on Tuesday at the police outpost in Wagholi area.
Police personnel put out the flames and rushed the man, identified as Rohidas Jadhav, to a hospital. He is in a critical condition, the police said.
Jadhav had lodged a complaint against another person over a parking dispute in his housing society, and police had registered a non-cognisable (NC) offence. A counter-complaint was also lodged.
"Jadhav came to the police chowky in Wagholi area on Tuesday morning and sought immediate action on his complaint. The police personnel assured him of necessary action as there is no provision for arrest under NC complaint," the official said.
Jadhav, however, was not convinced. He went out and set himself on fire after dousing himself with some inflammable substance, he said.

The Pune Police have arrested three suspects for ordering high-end mobile phones online and then swapping them with bars of soap before returning them to delivery executives, citing inadequate cash as the reason to not complete the transaction.
The suspects used a cell phone with fraudulent KYC verification to order the high-end phones via cash on delivery, with delivery addresses being hotels.
The suspects would distract delivery drivers while swapping the phone for soap and then return the package. The police have reportedly seized three high-end phones allegedly obtained fraudulently in the operation.
