Ahead of Telangana polls, BJP revoked suspension of MLA T Raja Singh. He was suspended over remarks on the Prophet.

BJP on October 22 revoked the suspension of Telangana MLA T Raja Singh. He was suspended by the party in August last year after his alleged derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad.
The Goshamahal MLA was also booked by the police and had spent nearly three months in jail.
In a letter, Om Pathak, Member Secretary of BJP's Central Disciplinary Committee, said that Singh's explanation to the show cause notice was considered.
&ldquo;The central disciplinary committee of the BJP revoked the suspension of Shri T Raja Singh MLA Gosha Mahal from the BJP after due consideration of his explanation in response to the show cause notice served by the party,&rdquo; a press release issued by the party stated.
The decision comes weeks ahead of assembly polls in Telangana.

A week after the city witnessed chaotic protests marred by stone-pelting, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) on Saturday demolished a high-rise building owned by a close aide of the main accused in the incident, police here said.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and order) Anand Prakash Tiwari said that the KDA has demolished a newly-constructed building owned by one Mohammad Ishtiyaq, who is said to be a close relative of prime accused Zafar Hayat Hashmi.
The building was in Swaroopnagar locality of Kanpur.
“There are reasons to believe that the investment has been made by the prime accused of the violence case,” Tiwari said, and claimed that the demolition was carried out in accordance with “norms and regulations.” A local court had on Friday approved 72 hours’ police remand of Hashmi along with Jawed Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Rahil, and Sufiyan. "The accused were taken into police custody following the court's order on Saturday morning and will remain in custody till Tuesday morning," said Tiwari.
Violence broke out in Kanpur on June 3 after some people gathered demanding strict action against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her comments on Prophet Mohammad. Sharma's remark riled many Arab nations and stoked like protests across parts of north India, and West Bengal.
At least 40 people including some police personnel were injured in the incident. The rioters hurled petrol bombs and damaged public properties, including shops and vehicles.

Outspoken writer from Bangladesh Taslima Nasreen waded into the Prophet row. She took to Twitter to express her views on the protest flare up in India in light of the comments made by now suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. 
Nasreen on Twitter said that even if The Prophet were alive today 'he would have been shocked to see the madness of the Muslim fanatics around the world.'
Her remark came after protests erupted in several states across the country and also spread to neighbouring Bangladesh. On Friday, thousands marched on the streets of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka in protesting Nupur Sharma's comments.
The protestors raised slogans against the Indian government and gave a call for the gherao of the Indian embassy on June 16. The demonstrators also demanded the boycott of Indian products.

One of the UK’s largest cinema chains has announced the cancellation of all screenings of a controversial new film claiming to reflect the story of the daughter of Prophet Muhammad after British Muslim protests across different cities.
Cineworld said in a statement on Tuesday that it took the decision to cancel all showings of ‘The Lady of Heaven’ to ensure the safety of staff and customers. An online petition calling for the film’s removal from all UK cinemas has attracted over 123,000 signatures, with several British Muslim groups issuing statements in protest.
“Due to the recent incidents regarding screenings of ‘The Lady of Heaven’, we have made the decision to cancel upcoming screenings of the film nationwide to ensure the safety of our staff and customers,” Cineworld said in an email to the protesting groups.
“Please accept our sincere apologies for the caused inconvenience,” the chain said.
The film, described on its website as a heart-wrenching journey of Lady Fatima – the daughter of Prophet Muhammad.
“In accordance with Islamic tradition, during the making of this film no individual represented a Holy Personality. The performances of the Holy Personalities were achieved through a unique synthesis of actors, in-camera effects, lighting and visual effects,” the website reads.
But the protesters and those behind the online petition on Change.Org have condemned it for inaccurate depictions of early Islamic history and claim the film has been created to “cause heartache for all Muslims as well as spread false information on Islam”.
“It is underpinned with a sectarian ideology and is blasphemous in nature to the Muslim community,” reads a statement from the Bolton Council of Mosques, which led protests against the screenings in north-west England.
“It grossly disrespects the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) in many ways and is deeply disturbing to every Muslim. It also misrepresents orthodox historical narratives and disrespects the most esteemed individuals of Islamic history. The storyline begs the question to what extent the producers had considered the huge impact of this film upon the Muslim community and notions of sacredness dearly held by them,” it notes.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday condemned the "hurtful" remarks by a ruling party leader in India against the prophet of Islam.
"I condemn in strongest possible words hurtful comments of India's BJP leader about our beloved Prophet (PBUH),” Shehbaz tweeted.
The prime minister also alleged that the current Indian government was trampling religious freedom and especially the rights of Muslims.
"Have said it repeatedly India under Modi is trampling religious freedoms & persecuting Muslims. World should take note & severely reprimand India. Our love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is supreme,” he said.
He went on to add: "All Muslims can sacrifice their life for the Love & Respect of their Holy Prophet (PBUH)." Pakistan's Foreign Office also retweeted the brief statement by the Prime Minister.
In New Delhi, the BJP suspended its national spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled its Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal after their controversial remarks against the Prophet, as it sought to defuse a row over the issue.
On Sunday, Qatar and Kuwait had summoned Indian envoys and registered a strong protest against the comments made by BJP leaders. India in a statement said it had informed the authorities of both countries that the views belong to fringe elements and not to the Government of India
