 Ahead of the grand event, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati arrived in the US. They will be attending the launch along with Nag Ashwin and Kamal Haasan. But, Deepika Padukone, who plays one of the lead roles in the film, will reportedly give it a miss.
 For the unversed, Deepika is a SAG-AFTRA member and with the strike underway, the union has specified that actors cannot provide promotional or publicity services for any event. This includes appearances at events such as the San Diego Comic-Con where 'Project K' will have its grand launch.
 Deepika will be skipping the event adhering to the membership regulations.
The highly-anticipated sci-fi film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The film will be released in two parts, with the first installment will release on January 12, 2024. Besides &lsquo;Project K&rsquo;, Deepika Padukone has &lsquo;Fighter&rsquo; with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor in the pipeline.
The Siddharth Anand directorial is scheduled to release in January 2024. She also has the remake of the Hollywood movie &lsquo;The Intern&rsquo; in her kitty in which she will share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan.

'Project K team will host a panel named &lsquo;This is Project K: First Glimpse of India&rsquo;s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic&rsquo; during which the film&rsquo;s full title, teaser, and release date will be officially announced,' the report published by Variety stated.
The team will also be a part of a performance that will be held at Comic-Con's largest stage.
Vyjayanthi Movies, the production banner, confirmed the reports with a social media post.
The makers of the Nag Ashwin later confirmed the reports with an official statement.
'This exclusive event will transport guests into India&rsquo;s most ambitious cinematic universe yet with their captivating storytelling, futuristic setting, and &lsquo;Spice Punk&rsquo; aesthetic inspired by the film,' the producers said in their statement.
The event is supported by Rana Daggubati&rsquo;s Spirit Media. SDCC takes place July 20-23.

The source went on to add that the song will be a situational one and it would be the most expensive song sequence from the Nag Ashwin magnum opus.
The song is being shot at Ramoji Filmcity.

There are also rumours that Disha Patani will feature in flashback segments of the film, making her a very prominent character.
Kamal Haasan, who was last seen in the blockbuster &lsquo;Vikram&rsquo;, has also reportedly joined the cast. A report by Pinkvilla suggests that he will portray a villainous character, setting the stage for an exciting clash with Prabhas.

 According to India Today, Kamal Haasan has allotted almost 20 days in August to shoot his portions in the film and has quoted a whopping sum of Rs 150 crore as remuneration. Kamal Haasan reportedly said yes to the offer as he is highly impressed with both the theme of the film and his character.
 Official confirmation by the makers on the big casting coup is still awaited. Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for director Shankar's &lsquo;Indian 2&rsquo;.

According to reports, it is unlikely now that 'Project K' will make its January 2024 release date.

The makers of &lsquo;Project K&rsquo;, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, had announced that the film would hit the screens on January 12 next year. However, with Big B still recovering from the injury he sustained on the sets of the movie, it is unlikely that the film will be ready before the said date.
According to an Indian Express report, a source close to the film unit said, &lsquo;It is still not clear how long it would take Bachchan saab to resume normal shooting, and the director (Nag Ashwin) and producers (Vyjayanthi Movies) are in no hurry. They are putting no pressure on Bachchan Saab to resume shooting. They will wait for as long as it takes. But it is unlikely now that Project K will make its January 2024 release date.&rsquo;
Amitabh Bachchan was severely injured while shooting for &lsquo;Project K&rsquo; in Hyderabad. In a social media post, he revealed that he&rsquo;s broken a rib during an action shot. &lsquo;I have got injured, rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage, canceled the shoot, did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home (sic),&rsquo; he wrote. &lsquo;Project K&rsquo; is being directed by Nag Ashwin of &lsquo;Mahanati&rsquo; fame
