Thousands of farmers gathered at Muzaffarnagar for a &lsquo;Kisan Mahapanchayat&rsquo; made it abundantly clear that they will campaign against the BJP in Uttar Pradesh for the 2022 assembly polls.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the organisers of the event said that the mahapanchayat will make the Modi and Yogi governments realise the power of farmers, farm labourers, and supporters of the farm movement.
Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that the they had to &lsquo;save the country from getting sold&rsquo;.&nbsp;
The farmers also declared an all-India strike, a bandh on September 27th.
The farmers have warned the Centre that they will continue to stage their agitation against the 3 farm bills till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections if their demands are not accepted.&nbsp;

‘Have to save the country’: Farmers vow to campaign against BJP in polls

"If the government understands something, it will be good. Such meetings will be held across the country. We need to save the country from being sold,"&nbsp;&nbsp;BKU's&nbsp;Rakesh&nbsp;Tikait&nbsp;says farmers will launch a campaign against the BJP&nbsp;in poll-bound UP.

The farmers warned the Centre that they will continue to stage their agitation against the 3 farm bills till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections if need be.&nbsp;
