Chief minister&nbsp;Ashok Gehlot on Thursday urged the Union health ministry to launch a probe into the procurement of defective&nbsp;ventilators using PM Cares fund.&nbsp;
Gehlot&nbsp;in a tweet said the Centre had made 1,900 ventilators available to the state from the PM Cares Fund. It was responsible for the installation and maintenance of these ventilators. According to doctors, many of these ventilators have technical shortcomings due to which using them can prove to be dangerous for patients.&nbsp;
Problems in the ventilators procured under PM Cares fund have also been reported from Madhya Pradesh, Punjab,&nbsp;Maharashtra and Gujarat.

500 new Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants have also been sanctioned under PM CARES Fund. The PSA plants will augment the supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen at hospitals in district headquarters and Tier 2 cities.
Establishing PSA plants and procurement of portable oxygen concentrators will increase the supply of oxygen near the demand clusters, and thus address the logistical challenges in transporting oxygen from plants to hospitals.

A discussion on the PM Cares fund turned into a heated argument in the Lok Sabha, with exchanges between BJP MPs and the opposition leaders.
As many opposition leaders criticised the PM CARES fund during a discussion on the Taxation Bill, Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused Gandhi family of &lsquo;cheating&rsquo; the people by accumulating public money by creating funds under different names. 
"Nehru ji ordered the creation of Prime Minister&rsquo;s National Relief Fund in 1948 like a royal order but its registration has not been done even till today. How did it get FCRA clearance?, " he said.
Thakur&nbsp;said the Congress was opposing the PM Cares Fund, just for the sake of it, just how they opposed EVMs &amp; then lost many elections.&nbsp;
