Miss Universe, Harnaaz Sandhu launched 'Global Menstrual Equity Accelerator', with a new campaign called 'Period for Change', which will fight stigma, influence policy, and secure the resources needed to end period poverty.&nbsp;

The star-studded Global Citizen Festival 2022, hosted by Priyanka Chopra was also attended by the 22-year-old Miss Universe, Harnaaz Sandhu. The beauty queen launched 'Global Menstrual Equity Accelerator', with a new campaign called 'Period for Change', which will fight stigma, influence policy, and secure the resources needed to end period poverty. Two other activists also joined her on the stage during her speech.&nbsp;
Harnaaz in her speech said that her mom is a gynaecologist and she has grown up talking openly about period without shame and she always had access to the products that she needed which is not the case for 500 million women across the world.&nbsp;
She urged everyone to unite for the noble cause and spread the word about 'Period for change' to end period poverty across the globe.&nbsp;

Richest 1% emit double CO2 emissions than poorest half: report

A new report by&nbsp;Oxfam&nbsp;and the Stockholm Environment Institute has revealed that during the years&nbsp;1990 to 2015, the 1% of the world's wealthiest population were responsible for more than twice as much carbon dioxide emissions than the poorer half of the world. During the 25-year period, carbon emissions rose by approximately 60%.&nbsp;
The report stated that the world's 'carbon budget' is being exhausted by overconsumption and "the addiction of the rich to high-carbon transport means".
If the emissions of the richest 10% are left unchecked, over the next decade, the emissions would be enough to raise temperatures by&nbsp;1.5C. This is likely to happen even if the rest of the world cuts its emissions to zero immediately.
