The BJP unit in Jammu &amp; Kashmir on Friday demanded the arrest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti for her "seditious remarks" wherein she said she would only hold the national tricolour when the flag of the erstwhile state is restored. In an act seen as defiance, the flag of the erstwhile state was prominently placed on a table in front of the PDP president as she addressed reporters for the first time since her release from 14-month detention following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The BJP said "no power on earth" can either hoist the state flag again or restore Article 370. J&amp;K BJP president Ravinder Raina told reporters that Governor Manoj Sinha must take cognisance of seditious remarks of Mehbooba Mufti and put her behind bars.

The signatories of the Gupkar declaration have decided to meet on Thursday afternoon to discuss future strategy in Srinagar. The signatories will meet in the afternoon at the residence of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah. This will be the third joint meeting of political parties who are officially the part of Gupkar declaration. The signatories are National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, People&rsquo;s Conference, Congress and other parties. Reports said PDP&nbsp;chief Mehbooba&nbsp;Mufti who was released on Monday after over 14 months will attend the meeting.&nbsp;BJP and Altaf Bukhari-led Apni Party are opposing the Gupkar declaration.&nbsp;

A Peoples Democratic Party meeting in Jammu&nbsp;and Kashmir's Srinagar&nbsp;was thwarted by the police on Thursday, many of the leaders of the party led by incarcerated Mehbooba&nbsp;Mufti claimed in videos that were posted by them. A bunch of videos showed several leaders being prevented to leave their houses. This as the Union Territory administration has turned&nbsp;Mehbooba's&nbsp;residence into a sub-jail after arresting her last year in August when the Centre revoked the special status of the Himalayan state. The PDP&nbsp;which ran a coalition government with the BJP&nbsp;in the erstwhile&nbsp;state has not been able to hold a meeting since Article 370 abrogation. Reportedly,&nbsp;PDP&nbsp;General Secretary&nbsp;Ghulam&nbsp;Nabi&nbsp;Lone who had called on the meeting had informed the administration beforehand on September 1. Meanwhile,&nbsp;BJP&nbsp;and the centre backed Jammu&nbsp;and Kashmir&nbsp;Apni&nbsp;party's political activities have been taking place&nbsp;smoothly.&nbsp;
