Shares of digital payments service provider Paytm hit the upper circuit of 20% to Rs 669.6 in Tuesday's trade on BSE after the company narrowed its consolidated net loss to Rs 392 crore in the third quarter

Share price of One97 communications, which is commonly known as Paytm extended its rally for the second consecutive day on Tuesday after the company narrowed its consolidated net loss to Rs 392 crore in the third quarter.
In early trade, the stock struck a 20% upper circuit. While the stock has skyrocketed by over 27% in 2 days. Major brokerages globally have raised their target price for Paytm shares after strong Q3 numbers.&nbsp; At the time of writing, Paytm shares soared by 5.09% or ₹28.40 to trade at ₹587 apiece on BSE.&nbsp;
Paytm shares have kicked started the week with a bang post Q3. On Monday, the share price closed at ₹558 apiece up by 6.31% on Dalal Street. So far, in the week, the shares have climbed by at least 27.55% on D-Street. &nbsp;

Investors of fintech giant Paytm is really having a tough time as Paytm shares hit their record low of Rs 476 on November 22 after plunging as much as 11%.
According to reports, the immediate cause for the fall in Paytm&rsquo;s stock price seems to be a report from investment firm Macquarie, which said that Jio&rsquo;s entry into financial services created additional risks for Paytm.&nbsp;
Macquarie analysts said that Jio Financial Serives ''can pose a significant growth and market-share risk&rdquo; for players such as Paytm and Bajaj Finance Ltd,&nbsp;
The latest fall in Paytm&rsquo;s stock comes right after the year-long holding period for its pre-IPO investors had expired. On 17th November, exactly a year after Paytm had gone public, its second-biggest investor Softbank had sold a 4.5% stake in the company for Rs. 1,630 crore. Softbank had acquired these shares at a price of Rs. 900 per share, but ended up selling them for Rs. 555 a share. Softbank incurred a loss, but it might have been a pruddent decision &ndash; Paytm&rsquo;s stock now trades 14% below the price at which Softbank had sold shares just a few days ago.

RBI order on Paytm: Big hit coming in for Vijay Shekhar founded Paytm as the central bank has banned Paytm Payments Bank from onboarding any new customers with immediate effect. 
The RBI has said this action has been taken after material supervisory concerns were observed in the bank, without detailing the observations. 
The Paytm Payments Bank has also been directed to appoint an IT audit firm to conduct a comprehensive System Audit of its IT system, the RBI order said. “Onboarding of new customers by Paytm Payments Bank Ltd will be subject to specific permission to be granted by RBI after reviewing a report of the IT auditors," the central bank said.
