As per the official order, the period of the now retired IPS officer's suspension will be treated as on duty

The Maharashtra government has dropped all charges against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and revoked his suspension order issued in late 2021, an official said on Friday.
At least four FIRs related to extortion were registered against Singh in Mumbai and adjoining Thane.
The order revoking his suspension was issued by the state home department on Wednesday, the official said.
As per the order, the period of the retired IPS officer's suspension should be treated as he was on duty, he said.
Singh was suspended in December 2021 when the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government was in office.&nbsp;

Former Mumbai police chief Parambir Singh was granted protection from arrest by the Supreme Court as he submitted in court via his lawyer that he hasn't fled the country and is very much in India. 
The top court asked him to join the investigations into the extortion charges against him while directing the police not to arrest him. 
Supreme Court had refused to grant Singh any such protection last week till he informed them about his whereabouts. 
His lawyer told the court that Parambir Singh had no intentions to abscond but he faces threat to his life. The lawyer argued that the former cop is being hounded and faces threat from the Mumbai police the moment he lands in Maharashtra.
