Adventure Sports Foundation of Ladakh (ASFL), have nicknamed the event &ldquo;The Last Run&rdquo;, highlighting how parts of the lake may be unfit for a race of this kind in years to come.
The Pangong Frozen lake marathon will be the first of its kind to ever take place across the globe at this altitude.
&ldquo;On 20th February Adventure Sports foundation of Ladakh (ASFL) in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh and Ladakh Tourism Department is going to organise India&rsquo;s first 21 km long Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon. It would be an attempt to make a &nbsp;Guinness world record for the world&rsquo;s highest frozen lake marathon,&rdquo; Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson said.&nbsp;

This comes days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the Modi administration's foreign policy in the Parliament. Gandhi accused the government of bringing China and Pakistan together, and called it a serious threat for India. External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar had responded to the criticism via a series of tweets on India-China-Pakistan history. Tension between Delhi and Beijing has been high since aggression by the Chinese army along the disputed border in Ladakh in 2020. Disengagement of troops has taken place in a few hotspots along the Line of Actual Control, though others remain. The last round of military-level talks to defuse the situation took place on January 12.
