Has Pakistan already gone bankrupt? This is what Defence Minister Asif said

Addressing a ceremony in his home town of Sialkot, he said that standing on its own feet was crucial for Pakistan to stabilise itself.

Defence minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan has already defaulted amid looming fears that the cash-starved country may go bankrupt and blamed the establishment, bureaucracy and politicians for the prevailing economic crisis.
Addressing a ceremony in his home town of Sialkot, he said that standing on its own feet was crucial for Pakistan to stabilise itself.
"You must have heard that Pakistan is going bankrupt or that a default or meltdown is taking place. It (default) has already taken place. We are living in a bankrupt country," he was quoted as saying by The Express Tribune newspaper.
"The solution to our problems lies within the country. The IMF does not have the solution to Pakistan's problems," he said.
He said that everyone &mdash; including the establishment, bureaucracy and politicians &mdash; are to blame for the current economic mess as the law and Constitution are not followed in Pakistan.
The minister said that most of his time had been spent in the opposition camp and that he has witnessed politics being disgraced for the past 32 years.

Lashing out at the former government, Asif said that terrorists were brought to Pakistan two and a half years ago which eventually resulted in the current wave of terrorism.
Speaking about the attack on the police office in Karachi on Friday, he said that the security agencies bravely fought the attackers.
The remarks come as the country faces a crippling economic crisis, with decades-high inflation and critically low foreign exchange reserves depleted by continued debt repayment obligations, the report said.
Pakistan&rsquo;s foreign exchange reserves are slightly above USD 3 billion which is hardly enough for 10-15 days of imports.&nbsp;

Pakistan International Airlines has sent an internal memo, to its cabin crew, instructing them to wear proper dress including undergarments, Indian newspaper The Hindustan times reported the news. 
Quoting Pakistan-based media organisation: Geo Tv, which claimed to have possession of the internal memo, said that the poor dressing of the cabin crew is leaving a bad impression and potraying the airlines in a negative way.
Geo TV reported the memo saying "It has been observed with great concern that a few cabin crew tend to dress casually while travelling intercity, staying in hotels and visiting various suffices. Such dressing leaves a poor impression on the viewer and portrays a negative image of not only the individual but also of the organisation."
It further instructs the cabin crew to wear formal plain clothes over 'proper undergarment'. The dress should be as per the country's norms and culture.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Friday claimed that a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan has been reported by the country's security agencies, ahead of Sunday's no-trust motion against the premier.
Khan’s security has been beefed up as per the government's decision after these reports, the Dawn newspaper quoted Chaudhry as saying.
His statement came a week after similar claims were made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda who had said that a conspiracy was being hatched to assassinate Khan over his refusal to "sell the country".
Vawda had made the remarks on ARY News show over a letter Prime Minister Khan had brandished at the PTI's March 27 show of strength here, claiming that it contained "evidence" of a "foreign conspiracy" to topple his government.
Vawda said that there was a threat to Khan’s life.
He, however, did not reveal if the purported conspiracy to assassinate the premier was mentioned in the letter.
Vawda also said that Khan was told multiple times that bulletproof glass needed to be installed before his dais at the March 27 rally but he refused.
Information Minister Chaudhry’s claims also come a day after Khan, during his address to the nation, vowed to foil "an international conspiracy" hatched against his government by the Opposition leaders and their alleged handlers ahead of the no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.
In a live address to the nation, 69-year-old Khan discussed a 'threat letter' and termed it as part of a foreign conspiracy to remove him as he was not acceptable for following an independent foreign policy. He named the US as the country behind the threat letter in what appeared to be a slip of tongue.
Prime Minister Khan linked the letter with the no-confidence motion against him by the Opposition in the National Assembly. The National Assembly is scheduled to vote on the no-trust motion on Sunday.

Pakistan lifts ban on TikTok

Pakistan telecom regulatory body said that it has lifted a ban on popular short-form video app TikTok.
This comes after the ByteDance-owned company agreed to moderate accounts in accordance with local laws.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had blocked TikTok some 10 days back for failing to filter out "immoral and indecent" content.
