Inflation is projected to go up to the range of 24 percent to 27 percent and will touch 30 percent for the current fiscal year, reported Geo News.
Moreover, poverty and unemployment will go up manifold from 21.9 percent to over 36 percent. A high-profile committee with representation from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning, State Bank of Pakistan, FBR, PIDE and others, made the evaluation.
The unemployment rate stood at 6 percent before the recent severe floods. Some 37 percent population has been hit by poverty after floods in 118 districts, as estimated by the Pakistan government.
Official sources said that the GDP growth would be reduced from 5 percent to 2 percent for the current fiscal against the initially envisaged growth rate target of 5 percent.
The State Bank of Pakistan revealed that growth would be reduced from 4 percent to 4.5 percent to 2 percent for the current fiscal, The News reported.
Agriculture growth faced a much more severe impact in the aftermath of floods and the value addition of agro growth in the range of over Rs 500 billion might evaporate in the current fiscal year. The agriculture growth target and services sector faced severe impacts.
The acute losses on the economic front may aggravate as the SBP&rsquo;s model is estimated to ascertain losses on the basis of disrupted economic activities hit in all districts and tehsils in the flood-affected areas.
The SBP has been using satellite images of SUPARCO to assess the exact losses faced by the agriculture sector. Google has also offered the government its services to ascertain the total accumulated losses to agriculture and physical infrastructure.
The last flood that hit the country in 2010 had caused damage in 78 districts but the current floods hit as many as 118 districts.

The United States on Tuesday announced USD 30 million in humanitarian aid such as food, safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and shelter assistance to Pakistan as it battles one of the worst floods in recent history.

United States Agency for International Development disaster management specialist arrived in Islamabad on Monday to assess the impact of the floods and coordinate with partners on response efforts.

The United States on Tuesday announced USD 30 million in humanitarian aid to Pakistan as it battles one of the worst floods in recent history.
US Secretary of State Tony Blinken said, "We stand with Pakistan in this difficult time." "As Pakistan suffers from devastating flooding, the United States -- through the USAID -- is now providing USD30 million towards critical humanitarian assistance like food, safe water, and shelter," he said.
The flooding has affected an estimated 33 million people and resulted in more than 1,100 deaths and over 1,600 injuries, Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the Department of State, told reporters during a conference call.
"In addition, more than one million homes have been damaged or destroyed, and nearly 735,000 livestock &ndash; a major source of livelihood and food &ndash; have been lost, and the flooding has damaged roads and more than two million acres of agricultural land,&rdquo; he said.
USAID (United States Agency for International Development) partners will use this fund to prioritise urgently needed support for food, nutrition, multi-purpose cash, safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and shelter assistance, he said.
A USAID disaster management specialist arrived in Islamabad on Monday to assess the impact of the floods and coordinate with partners on response efforts, he added.
"We are deeply saddened by the devastating loss of life and livelihoods throughout Pakistan. We stand with Pakistan during this difficult time, and the U.S. is proud to be the single largest humanitarian donor to Pakistan," Patel said.
Several US lawmakers have said they are heartbroken at the devastating flood in Pakistan.
"My thoughts are with the people of Pakistan as they face these devastating floods. I extend my deepest condolences for the mounting loss of life and to all those affected," said Congressman Gregory Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
"My thoughts are with the people of Pakistan, especially those who lost loved ones to recent floods. International support for shelter, clean water, healthcare &amp; emergency services is crucial. We cannot afford to ignore the climate crisis or its deadly impact on our world," said Senator Robert Menendez, the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
"Heartbroken for Pakistan and the global Pakistani community. This is unconscionable. Every nation must declare a climate emergency and move every resource toward responding to our current reality. It's on all of us to save the planet and save humanity," Congressman Jamaal Bowman said.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar said the devastating flooding in Pakistan is yet another example that the effects of climate change are happening right now. "My prayers are with the millions of people suffering - and for a future where we can prevent it.&rdquo; Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said, "Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the monsoons in Pakistan &mdash; from the millions who have now been displaced to the thousands who have tragically lost their lives." Congresswoman Haley Stevens said a "global climate disaster" is well underway, and the US has a major role to play in deterring it. "Overwhelmed with grief at the devastation we&rsquo;re seeing out of Pakistan, where heavy rains &amp; flooding have stolen the lives &amp; livelihoods of so many this summer." Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, co-chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, said the flooding devastation is catastrophic with over 30 million people impacted.
"It&rsquo;s urgent that the United States offers to help with possible airlifts of food and necessities to isolated and starving people."

The Pakistan government has decided to call in the Army to help in the rescue and relief operations after many parts of the country were ravaged by the worst floods in more than a decade that has affected more than 33 million people.

So far 982 people have been killed due to floods across Pakistan. As many as 45 persons died in the last 24 hours, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Another 1,456 persons were hurt, with 113 injuries reported in the last 24 hours, it said.
Interior Minister Sanaullah said the armed forces were being deployed in the wake of the biggest floods in more than a decade.
He said the troops have been called in under Article 245 of the Constitution which empowers the government to summon the Army in aid of the civilian administration to deal with an emergency.
A formal notification issued on Friday read that the exact number of troops and area of deployment would be worked out by respective provincial governments in consultation with the military operations directorate and General Headquarters.

&ldquo;The date of de-requisitioning of said deployment will be decided subsequently after mutual consultation among all stakeholders,&rdquo; according to the notification.
The calamity has badly hit the infrastructure of the country with the NDMA reporting that more than 3,161 kilometres of road were damaged and 149 bridges swept away, while 682,139 houses were totally or partially damaged in the floods.
Floods triggered by unprecedented monsoon rains have submerged more than half of the country, leaving more than 5.7 million without shelter and food in 110 districts.
Sindh and Balochistan provinces have been worst hit by the disaster and Pakistan Railway has suspended its operation at several places in the two provinces while Pakistan International Airlines also halted on Friday its flights to Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, due to bad weather.
According to Minister for Environment Sherry Rehman, the country normally witnesses about three to four spells of torrential rains every year.
However, Pakistan has this year so far been hit by eight monsoon spells and more downpour is expected.
The NDMA data shows that during the last 30 years the average rainfall in the monsoon season was 132.3 mm while so far 385.4 mm of rains have been recorded since June 14 -- about 192 per cent more than the previous three decades.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a meeting with a select group of Islamabad-based Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and other senior members of the diplomatic corps ambassador on Friday briefed on the flood situation in the country.
He said that as per the initial damage assessment, the losses caused by the floods were comparable to those Pakistan suffered during the flash floods of 2010-11.
The meeting was attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Kuwait, UAE, Turkiye, South Korea, the US, Germany, and senior diplomats of Bahrain, the European Union, France, Oman, Qatar, the UK, and Saudi Arabia.
The Country Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) was also present at the meeting, according to the Foreign Office.
The Prime Minister said that more than 33 million people had been badly affected by the flash floods and torrential rainfalls.
He said that Pakistan&rsquo;s carbon emission footprint was negligible but it was ranked at the 8th position among the countries exposed to the horrors of climate change.
Noting that climate change has made flooding worse, the Prime Minister emphasised rehabilitation and reconstruction of climate-resilient infrastructure in Pakistan.
Sharif said that given the urgency of the challenge, the government had decided to reach out to friendly countries, donors, and international financial institutions for their continued cooperation at this difficult hour.
He said that the Foreign Office and the NDMA were closely coordinating with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Islamabad to launch a UN Flash Appeal on August 30.
Speaking on the occasion, foreign diplomats expressed condolences and sympathies to the people and the government on the loss of precious lives and damage to infrastructure in the floods.
They assured the government of their country's continued support to meet the requirements of the rescue and relief operations across Pakistan.
